I booked a Balloon ride for Saturday 8/6/05, our wedding aniversary. We were notified by telephone that the wheather was going to be too windy. When we had purchased the tickets there was an option to pay an extra 31 dollars for a refundable ticket. The person that we spoke to on the phone made it sound like we could get a refund if it was weather related. The actual fact of the matter is that you can only reschedual. Had it been made clear to us that wheather would be a reason to purchase the refund policy we would have.

I called back later on that evening and spoke to someone about booking a balloon ride for the evening of 8/6/05 and he said that there were rides scheduled but they were all booked up. I had been previously told by Richard (confimation specialist) that all flights for 8/6/05 were cancled and 8/7/05 was all booked up too. These were the only two days that my wife and I had off work together.

After thinking things over I decided to call and ask if the money that we had paid for the balloon ride cound be transferd and used for a different activity that they offered. I spoke to Andre in the call center and he said that it could be done but I would have to call back at 5pm PST when thier confirmation specialist was back (Richard). I had Andre look up dune buggies and horseback riding on the oregon coast. Both are activities that my wife and I enjoy.

I called back and spke with Richard again and he told me that it was not transferable and that the only wat he could do it would be to issue gift certificates which would have to be sent in the mail. I asked very nicely if there were any other options because were were running out of time and didn't have time to wait for the tickets to arrive in 7 to 10 days. He replied "Nope".

I procceded to tell him how dissatisfied I was with thier service and that I thought thier company needs to explain these things verbaly or in writing to thier customers prior to thier purchase. My wife is hearing impaired and can not hear on the phone so I was asking questions fer over the phone. Richard got very defensive and rude because I was repeating what my wife was asking. Richard told me in a demeaning tone of voice "why don't you put your wife on the phone because you are just repeating what she says". I replied " My wife is hearing impaired, so I will handle this for her, thank you." Richard said in a gruff tone "have a nice day" and hung up before I could finish asking all of my questions.
