On January 7, 2007 at approximately 7:00 PM MST I placed an order for PC3200 DDR Memory, (2) 1 GB Modules for $149.99 through MicroMagic US aka MicroMagic Pc (10501 Valley Blvd. 1100, El Monte, CA 91731), by finding them on the Price Watch site, www.pricewatch.com. The order number was yhst-22894386579119-3979.

On January 09, 2007 my account was debited for the total amount of $149.99. I became concerned when the item had not arrived by January 22nd, 2007, so I sent them an email at 10:00 PM to the email address support@4magicus.com. On January 23rd, 2007, the package arrived fully sealed, but when opened, it only contained packing materials (7 foam peanuts) and no memory. My wife had to cut it open, as the seal of the envelope was so well intact that she couldn't rip it without tearing it up. Therefore there is no way it could have been tampered with! It was very obvious that it had not been tampered with.

Even more concerned, at this point, we began search online for a contact number and found this link: http://www.pricewatch.com/public/feedback.aspx?q=5078&i=1. I saw that someone else had complained of the exact same issue. Looking at the PriceWatch Feedback list, it seemed odd that they would have a string of negatives and then a string of positives. It became quickly evident that this sites feedback system was broken, allowing multiple feedbacks just by changing email addresses. Which means that this company could easily be stacking false positives to improve their rating.

So, we did a Google Search and found that there had been quite a few complaints. We found the number on MicroMagic US site, 6265525068, and called. No one answered, but while my wife was on the line waiting to leave a message, we received a call on the other line and it was them. Obviously calling back using caller id. They never asked for my name or what the product was that I had ordered. We told them we received an envelope containing only 7 foam packing peanuts and he accused the postal service of tampering and said he had several complaints of the same issue. He then said that we should file a claim with the US Postal Service. Since it was obvious that there was no tampering involved, my wife told them that would be fraud. He said to send it back and he would give us our money back, but when asked how can we send back something we never received. He hung up on us.

They did send an envelope and we still have it. It was a white packing envelope with seven styrofoam peanuts inside it, 8 inches by 7 inches with a packing list on the front.

After the confrontation we checked online for our order status again and it said it had been cancelled. We never canelled it!!! We never got our product and we never disclosed our name or any other personal info that this guy could have known which order to even cancel. Even if he used the phone number from the caller id. We never cancelled the order!! We wanted the product and were unable to even discuss whether he would send it or our money back because he hung on us!

IMPERSONATED BETTER BUSINESS BUREAU! LIED about FEEDBACK FROM BEST BUY

AUTHOR: Christine - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 16, 2007

This merchant called me and pretended to be the BBB. Someone calling themselves Rick called me and said that my claim to the BBB would be denied and that I would not get my money back through my bank and that my negative post at RipOff Report.com would be removed because the merchant could prove that my package was delivered because they had a tracking number. I never disputed the package not arriving. It was empty when I got it.

They also claimed that the merchant tried to make a refund to my bank account but my credit card had been canceled. I did in fact close my card immediately after receiving a empty package. However... my bank did not close the option for a refund, only the ability to have any charges made on the account. Therefore leading me to believe that this merchant must have tried to charge something more because how else would they have been privy to the information the credit card was closed. My bank advised me NO attempts at refunds had been attempted and if they had they would have gone through immediately.

I called the numbers that Rick provided to me and it turns out that he did give me a correct number for the BBB council in Arlington Virginia but it was not his direct number and there is no Rick that works there and to make matters more fishy, he called me at 4:42pm Mountain time and the BBB Council closes at 5pm eastern time. Hence making his call time 6:42pm. They were not open. Also the supposed BBB call came from a Private Name Private number on my caller ID. I called the BBB council back the next day they called me back to prove that their number does in fact show up when they call out. They have no reason to hide who they are. I also called the Southland BBB in southern Califonia and confirmed that they too do not have a Rick under their employee. Their office closes at 3pm west coast time. Hence meaning that it was 3:42pm when I would have gotten the call from that office and again, the office was closed.

After speaking with Rick who was so willing to call the merchant and smooth things over for me and get another shipment out to me... I got a confirmation call of a tracking number from Rick, then Leo called to have me look up the tracking number that he had sent to me and he explained how he was not sending me what I had ordered but something better, because what I ordered he said would not work in my system. I got an online chat session with the makers of my computer and not only confirmed what I ordered had been right and correct but what Leo was sending me was obsolete and not manufactured any longer. I have since refused the package and sent it back. They only wanted to try to smooth things over with me because I have made so much noise about them screwing me over!

Rick also provided me a phone number for the Attorney Generals office. Low and behold the number was not valid. "Surprised"?

They also claim that they do business with Best Buy! This is NOT true!!!!! I called the corporate offices of Best Buy and sent them the feedback link from pricewatch and they confirmed that they do not ever buy from small merchants. They buy from Manufacturer's only! Do not believe the positive feedback you read from BEST BUY! It is not true!!!!!

You to can help put an end to this cheating company!!!
