Since May 2008, we have been a customer at 5/3 Bank in Dekalb, Il. and on 2 occasions have been charged unbelievably outrageously high overdraft charges and fees!!!! Once in 2008, where there was a BANK ERROR and again, as recently as May 2009 where there was NO OVERDRAFTS and there was money IN the account as well as a deposit made the day BEFORE which was done before their 'cutoff' or 'end of business' day!!!

The first time (Fall-2008) took an actual 'scene' in the bank lobby in front of customers (as phone calls became worthless) to get the refund made of which was bank error anyway. The second time (May-2009) was after making a deposit on a day before a check hit the bank and we had just taken out a short term loan from another lender for some medicines, gas, our 13 yr. olds needs, etc. as, being a Disabled Veteran, I only get paid once a month and still had 5 days before getting paid so we knew we needed to get some temp cash.

The very next morning, after going online too check our bank balance, we found a completely revised account balance page (which had not been changed or revised for 2 days prior!) where we were suddenly charged $222.xx!!! There were was money in the bank the day before when we made the deposit and suddenly there were OD fees and charges for.......well...we still don't know!!! Where the loan we put in our checking account should have made our balance about $190 was now $16.xx.

At this point in time, we STILL have not received this money back and are attempting too file a law suit (Class Action or oterwise!!) against 5/3 Bank. This would make a VERY interesting news story!!!
