About March or April 2005 I ordered car parts from 6th planet auto parts for my 1999 Saturn. Some parts arrived undamaged and were the correct parts. Other parts were for the wrong application or arrived damaged.

The headliner shipped was for the wrong year vehicle. A quarter panel, one seat and a hood arrived damaged. No replacement or refund was offered for the headliner or seat. To 6th planet's credit they shipped a replacement quarter panel. 6th planet auto parts blamed all damage to the parts on the shipping company.

The hood arrived and was in poor shape. I was unable to reach Melissa Cutrone or Joe Cutrone by phone as their phone is answered by a message machine. I emailed the company and inquired about a replacement hood. Melissa Cutrone advised 6th planet auto parts did not have a replacement so therefore a refund would be issued.

Since a replacement hood wasn't available I purchased one from the local Saturn dealer. Melissa assured me that she would file a claim with shipping company, as the parts were insured, and once the refund was received, she would send me a check.

I maintained contact via email. 5 months later, in September 2005, Melissa emailed me and advised she had received payment in full from the shipping company. She stated she would therefore be sending me my refund of $228.50.

I have yet to receive a refund. 6th planet auto parts, by their own admission, has been paid twice for the hood. Once by me and once by the shipping company.

I have continued to inquire about the refund over the past 6 months. I have filed reports with the BBB and Florida consumer complaints. Both organizations have indicated 6th Planet has failed to respond to their inquiries.

I have been told by 6th planet that the check would be sent. I have also been given excuses as to why the money hasn't been sent, ie they are a small company, or the business was shut down due to the hurricanes, or they didn't have the money, or the owner Joe was injured and the company had to shut down.

All I wanted was a refund of the money I paid for the hood. I bought a new seat and found another headliner. I didn't think asking for a refund on the hood that was too much to ask considering 6th planet auto parts collected the money from the shipping company and from me.
