 I am renting out my townhome and the tennants alerted me to a leak coming from the ceiling on Jan 1.

I called a-1 american and got an appointment for fri jan 3rd. The technician, Darrell, did a quick test and found it was the bath tub spout that was the problem.

He wrote down the base price of $707.00 and then proceeded to give me discounts with coupons he had which brought it down to $537.00

 I was unaware that he overchareged me and thought he had to take out the drywall and repair the leak from the pipes as well as replacing the tub spout. He said I didnt have to wait around and because my tennants were there, I left him with a check and took off.

My husband saw the reciept and made me aware that I was ripped off. The tennants also said he was only there for a half hour and did not replace the tub spout. he only placed a plastic ring around the existing one and caulked it. I checked on the parts price and waht he changed was no more than $10 dollars.

I made a phone call to complain and was told someone would get back to me, They never did.

The leak came back two weeks later, so I called again and again was told someone would get back to me, but they never did.

I had to pay someone else more money to fix the leak and repair the drywall.
