AA Nail and Spa Denied Service Arnold Missouri

On Saturday May 18, 2013 at around 6:25 -6:30 pm I went into the AA Nail salon and Spa located in Arnold MO (114 Richardson Crossing Shopping Center 63010).  Upon my entry with my daughter, a worker there stated loudly that they were closed.  I walked out with my daughter and looked on the door sign and the identified business hours were 9:30 am - 7:00 pm.   Similar business hours are noted on the business cards of this salon.  We got back in the car and drove off and made a stop at a local restaurant in the same strip mall.  I looked up the salon phone number and I called and requested an appointment.  A lady answered and inquired on what service I needed and I stated the "shellac" gel.  I informed her that I could be there in 5 minutes and she responded as long as I could be there in 5 minutes it was ok and she would take me.  When I went back to the nail salon the same lady that had stated earlier that they were closed seemed shock to see me back.  I asked for the name of the manager and she indicated it was Lee Nguyen and the manager was not available.   I then asked for her name and stated it as mumble that sounded as “Yvonne”.  When she would not clarify her name, I requested her to show me a copy of her cosmetic license which should (typically be hanging on the wall but I could not locate it) and she refused.    She started to tell me that they shut down at 6:00 pm to allow them time to clean but I said if that was the case then the advertised business hours should be 9:30 am to 6:00 pm and not 7:00 pm.  She argued that they were closed but I said someone on the phone accepted my appointment.  At this point, they still refused to wait on me. I informed her that the hours they advertised were either false or I was being denied service based on my appearance (especially since they seemed willing to accept an appointment over the phone and in person they refused to wait on me).   During the course of this visit, I was verbally assaulted by one of their clients who called me all kinds of inappropriate and derogatory names and for every name she called me I responded that this conversation was not directed to her and after consistent insults from this customer I responded that, “it takes one to know one”.   I am an educated woman (Bachelor of Science in Chemistry, American Society of Quality certification in Pharmaceutical Auditor and Associate of Applied Science in Chemical Technology.  I am working on obtaining my MBA) of a minority ethnicity.  I am married to a Caucasian and work in a diverse corporate environment).   I am well cultured and I accustomed to working and with people of varying cultures and background.   On a separate occasion about a month ago, I had gone in to the same salon for an eye brow arch, there were only 2 customers in there at this time and the same lady had informed me that they were too busy.  I had not connected the dots until today's events.  I am not certain if I should consider this incident RACIALLY DRIVEN or if the salon personnel were just LAZY!  Irrespective of race and ethnicity the MONEY ALL SPENDS THE SAME!
