Aamco of Clifton NJ Bait and Switch - Fraud clifton New Jersey

This place has made me so angry. Luckily, I didn't let them touch my car! My mechanic did some work on my car last weekend and said my transmission fluid is black and I should go have it flushed. Ok. Says go to aamco they should be the cheapest. Ok. So I look online and I find this one that's between work and home and really its the only one nearby. I look at their web site. They have a coupon up for a transmission flush, for 99.00 and change. Great! So I call them up, the only night they are open after 5 is Wednesdays. OK, so I make an appointment for Wednesday and I tell the woman on the phone I have the coupon off the web site. I get there 10 minutes early, I go inside, give them my registration, they start filling out paperwork. She wants me to sign something and tells me it'll be 188.80 + tax. I said whoa, I have this coupon I told you about on the phone. They say it doesn't apply to my car. Why doesn't it appy? Because your car needs "special fluid" oh and that coupon doesn't include a filter. Seriously? So I try to argue with them, because I have only brought the amount of money it would have cost according to the coupon, and they don't listen to me.

They also wanted to "inspect" my transmission first and they repeated several times that "if everything is ok they'll flush the transmission." which makes me think that had I agreed to pay this fee and they had gotten my car in their shop they would have found something wrong with it that would have cost me a lot of money. I walked out of there, and as I'm walking out the guy (who is like 90) is still telling me the coupon doesn't include a filter. Really? Because that's my biggest worry at the moment...told him he should probably put that on there, left, and called my mechanic who's going to find me someone more suitable to go to tomorrow.

I don't suggest anyone ever go within 100 miles of this place. Shady doesn't even begin to describe them.
