AAMCO Transmission UNLIMITED MILES Warranty FRAUD

On Friday November 24th, 2000 @ 1:42PM My family paid $2898.70 for a Rebuilt Transmission and a Torque converter with a 12Month UNLIMITED MILES WARRANTY. We paid an additional $349.00 upgrade in warranty to extend the terms to 36Months/50,000Miles. In only 13,600 Miles later, the transmission went bad. COMPLETELY DISTROYED. We followed their requests on watching for shifting problems, check the transmission fluid, and even did the 10-day recheck we never made it to the yearly maintenance before the transmission died.

On a camping trip, my husband was stranded over 5 states away from the original AAMCO and home. The nearest AAMCO was over 8 hours drive away. We called the 1-800 AAMCO Hotline and no answer. Nothing to do we read the back of our warranty paper work. We called the original AAMCO Location, no return call. We found the only transmission shop with in 3 hour drive and had the car fixed so my husband could return home. Another $2895.14 dollars later he was on his way.

Upon returning home, we called AAMCO and they refused to guarantee the work. We sent them the old Transmission, and torque converter, we have gone through the Better Business Breau and now have started the paperwork for court and Mediation Services. The time and energy spent is so exhausting, but having over $6000.00 on credit cards at 20% is very sick. AAMCO Transmissions Corporate Offices were very pleasant to speak to, but no help at all in the negotiations to receive the payment for the bad service, bad transmission, bad labor, bad torque converter.
