I have friends who have been ordering from abc for several years, but never received anything damaged, and that is where the lack of customer service begins.

I received a damaged item in early December 2003. After waiting a couple of weeks for a return label, I returned the item with instructions for a refund, since I had already paid the bill (THEY require payment within 10 days). They emailed me to report receipt of the damaged item on Dec. 30 with the statement that the refund had been processed.

After multiple follow-up emails 3 weeks later, with responses that were polite and yet completely vague, I finally called (at my expense) to find out when my refund was processed. After waiting for 20-30 minutes (on my dime), I was told the payment had been processed 1/19/04... it is now 2/6/04, and STILL no refund.

I called again (yet again on my dime) at approx. 4:30ET on 2/4, only to be put on hold until it became 'after business hours', so the automated system informed me that I would have to call back during business hours. THAT is my last attempt to reach them by phone. It's not worth another minute of my time or added charges to MY phone bill. They have lost what could have been a good and faithful customer.

Although for the most part, their items are of good quality for the money...you don't know how much you will be paying for shipping until your item is shipped, and you get the bill! The shipping charges are exhorbitant....I paid $72 for shipping on a $165 order!! Totally unbelieveable! So when you think you're getting a good deal... you will think again after you get the bill! And getting your money back...is impossible, and you don't get any refund for the exhorbitant shipping, even when the damage is their fault. That will be my LAST order from abc Distributing, LLC.

Refund received... took about a month too long...

AUTHOR: Monica - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Friday, February 06, 2004

Lo, and behold, this afternoon's mail contained my refund for the damaged item that I returned 6 weeks ago. After being told it was processed 1/19/04, I finally received it today 2/6/04. The check WAS dated 1/19/04, but the postmark showed that it wasn't mailed until 2/4/04 with 27 cents postage metered.... how can that be? It wasn't a bulk-mailing, and doesn't it cost Joe Consumer 37 cents to mail a first-class letter? Regardless.... their shipping costs are exhorbitant, the customer service is non-existant, and this is one consumer that will go elsewhere from now on....
