You might find this minor, but it speaks volumes about the saleman at ABC Warehouse in Utica, Michigan. We bought a Maytag washer from there about 5 years ago and had nothing but trouble with it. We decided to buy a new washer. We told the saleman that we were unhappy with our Maytag and wanted another brand. My wife saw an Amana she liked and asked who made it. The salesman said Whirlpool. We took delivery today and found out Amana is a division of Maytag. Either he doesn't know his product, which I doubt, or he was willing to tell us anything to get the sale.

This may be splitting hairs, but Whirlpool owns Maytag. Whirlpool completed its acquisition of Maytag in Mach 2006.

amana was bought out by maytag some years ago. then maytag was bought out by whirlpool two years ago in oct. the salesman knew his product, and he did not lie. maytag and amana are owned by whirlpool.
