I had to move for a new job from Maryland to Northern Virginia and was quoted for $642.20 for a one day move in September 2012.  On the day of the move, I had packed most of the items in boxes so except for furniture, they just had to put boxes in moving truck.

First they were late by 4 hours.  They said there truck didn't start so they had to go and rent a Ryder moving truck, then they packed all my belongings.  The last thing in the truck was a one of a kind memorabilia picture that was approx. 48" X 64" and glass covering it.  I helped them put it on the truck then they closed and locked the back of the truck.

I went to my new house and waited for them to arrive.  Once they arrived, they unpacked my belongings and it took them way too long.  I was starting to wonder what was up, so I even had my friend who was with me also help the movers unload.  Once they wer done, as I said it took way too long, the main supervor on the move gave me the bill and it was twice the estimate.  I talked with their dispatch and they said if I didn't pay they were going to remove all my stuff and keep it for "ransom" unless I paid in full.

So I paid the additional Approx. $840.00 dollars and went inside after verifying the truck was empty.  This is where it gets mysterious.  Since the movers were suppose to come striaght to my home from the old home, all my possesions should have been there.  Well I was missing my one of a kind picture that when I bought it was for $350.00 over seven years ago.  Its value was significantly higher now.

Well I called Ryan Young of the ABS Moving company and he stated to file a claim.  Well I finally got ahold of someone in the insurance claim department and they said that unless I had a picture of what was missing they couldn't do anything at this time.  So I called Mr. Young back and told him that unless my item was found that I was seeking legal counsel.  I also stated to him that my personal item was removed form his companies truck by one of there employees, which construes theft.  He didn't agree and told me it must have been misplaced and will find it.  A month went by and I kept calling and it finally showed up in a warehouse in Baltimore, MD.  Funny because they came straight to my home in the move so whithout drawing any conclusion, you could figure out that the one that actually stolen the picture, returned it when they started investigating and trying to locate it.

Welll that was only part of it.  It is now Feb, 2013 and I still don't have it.  They found it in October 2012.  When they supposedly try to send it to me, they packaged it and gave it to UPS for deliver to me, it was returned to them according to the tracking information Mr. Young had given me.  Here, the shippers (UPS), dropped the picture and broke it.  Well now for about a month both the ABS Moving and UPS both kept denying fault for the picture due to inappropriate packaging.  Now I finally told them to just send it too me and for some reason they say ok what is you address to ship it.  They moved me and have a file on my move but have to for about the tenth time ask for my address to send my property back to me.  I have contacted a lawyer, who is willing to sue but for a small item like this, I just want it back and don't really want to prolong this anymore.  So as I stated, still no picture and it is the end of Feb. 2013.

No way would I ever recommend this company for anyone to use.  They are ripoffs in every since of the word.  They don't back up there quotes and are dishonest.
