Absolute Flood Response 24 Hour Flood, AFR Attempted insurance fraud, theft, abandonment, overcharge, poor workmanship and destruction Las Vegas Nevada

The complaint listed here from 2016 is exacty what happened to us in our home!  DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

AFR should stand for ABSOLUTE FLIPPING RIPOFF!

We had a cattegory 3 flood in our kitchen in May, 2017.  AFR dragged on and on and on for over twomonths in order to maximize their charges to our insurance for fans.  They din't start the work until August and refused to remove the fans until a week after they were done.  We later got a bill for another $1500.  It is now November and we still have NO KICHEN function!

- The workers did not cover the flooring as they removed items with category three water damage and tracked all that through the house.  When I addressed this with tthem, they said, "Oh, we are replacing the carpets..."  The representative had me thinking that my insurance was going to replace all the carpets.  This was not true but they argued with us as though we were insane.

We insisted they clean the solied carpets at their expense, they agreed in writing but then when they suibmitted another estimate for reconstruction, they rolled $175 in charges for my insurance company to pay!  $175 is outtrageous for carpet cleaning in ONE ROOM and a hallway.  Two subsequent estimates from carpet cleaners to do FOUR Rooms only cost $124.

- AFR left all our kitchen appliances in the front yard for more than two months.  We continually complasned and they sent someone to the house and they took it all away leaving us with no appliances.  AFR promised to replace them and dropped off one applaince (of the three  they'd removed) it was probaly 25 years old, filthy, with gross things and kids toys in them .

- Abandonment - Six months later, they still have not removed the lock box from the outside of the house..

- The cost of the work was just under $8000 initially but they kept sending us bills three months after they finished the work for another $1500 not covered by insurance (this is for an abatement--we had no choice on any of the work done since it is regulated by EPA and they know it).  

- After the flood damage was taken care of, AFR submitted another estimate for the reconstruction but told us we "could not see the samples until AFTER we paid them another $5000)!  Never heard of paying for something without knowing what we're buying!

- We had wood cabinets in kitchen, FIVE MOINTHS LATER, AFR brought ONE cabinet SAMPLE over which is melamine (the lowest grade there is).  We said no, this is not the same grade.  AFR then responded with, "Well, then we need more money!'  Thus, dragging out the time before we'd have a kitchen!

This is the WORST EXPERIENCE WE'VE EVER HAD!  This company lied and tormented our family for six months and we still don't have our life back--nor do we have appliances anymore. 

They should be shut down, fined and sued.

My insurance company and several other contractors later told me that they do this all the time; inmflate prices and take advantage of homeowners during an already stressful time.

This is a criminal organization.  Steer clear!
