I am setting up my own business as a sole proprietor and while filling out the paperwork for my credit card routing service, I noticed a field on the form calling for a Employer Identification Number and figured I needed to apply for one so I went online and with a Google search got the result for Simple Filings with the web addresshttp://www.simplefilings.gov-tax.net/ and followed the link, not being careful enough to note that the ".gov" within the address is not at the very end of the address, and is therefore not affiliated with the government. I personally speculate this is done intentionally on the part of Simple Filings to mislead consumers.

Seeing there was an option for online filing i clicked the link and filled out the required fields that would be applied to a simple .pdf file (the same one available for free on irs.gov) and after filling out all the information was brought to the payment page. I foolishly paid a whopping $236 to have this company provide a .pdf document and mail it. When I realized that for my business I don't actually need an EIN i contacted Simple Filings to find that their service is non refundable as filing for an EIN is effectively the same as filing for a Social Security Number and can't be undone by the IRS once created

I accept responsibility for allowing myself to be duped by this whole thing and according to SimpleFilings terms of service they are within their legal rights to withhold any refund as they have already rendered service very difficult task of printing a form and then mailing it. The only wrongdoing on there part are the exorbitant fees for what is for all intensive purposes an almost entirely automated service, and that could be clearly argued .

I'm filing a report here because i've paid for a service that i will not be using and have no way to recoup my expenses, largely due to the fact that I was note careful enough, and also because the grossly inefficient, coercive bureaucratic institution set up by the government to take people's money against their will to be allocated for unjustifiable military campaigns, tariffs and subsidies which hamper trade development and corrupt officials who perpetuate the misuse of people's hard earned money as general policy in the giant Ponzi scheme which the U.S. monetary system is structured under while introducing legislation to erode people inherent freedoms and privacy under the guise of doing it for you.

We are a document preparation and filing service that strives to succeed by providing intuitive proprietary forms, clear help content, quick processing times, and quality customer service. Our site does not look like the IRSs and our service is explained numerous times before any payment will be accepted.

This customer chose our fastest and most expensive option for service. And indeed, our records show that his order was completed and his EIN was delivered to him by e-mail in under five minutes. So the service, which is not fully automated, was completed as requested. And a service provider cannot take back the time and cost they spend correctly providing a requested service.

Regardless, we apologize for any negative experience. It is not in line with the experiences of our many satisfied customers. But we will take it to heart and strive to continue improving.
