It would take a novel to describe the nightmarish adventure that we encountered after contracting with Accent Movers to make an in state move. After being referred to this company by some friends that happened to have a good experience we called and scheduled an appointment for a rep to give us a quote. Shawn (the owner?) visited our residence and was polite and professional. After requesting the movers that our friends had worked with he assured us that we would get them. Melissa in the office who later emailed over a proposal was also professional. This is where the professional chapter ends and the adventure begins.

We confirmed arrival times several times before the day of the move but that didn't prevent them from showing up an hour and a half late supposedly because they were lost or that their truck broke down. On arrival we discovered that Accent only owns the trailers and sub-contracts out the labor and trucks to we assume anybody with a truck and a pulse. We of course didn't get the crew we requested. The sub-contractors truck leaked gallons of diesel fuel all over the parking lot with absolutely no attempt or even an offer to clean it. After much argument regarding payment type, included items in the contract etc the move commenced. Considering the nearly 100 degree temperatures the crew did a decent job of getting the items in the trailer just to discover that the trailer had a flat and......believe it or not....no spare or way to fix the flat. The one piece (and that means POS) that Accent owns was in horrible working condition. The tire that went flat was nearly bald in the first place. It quickly became obvious that Accent had no plan to remedy the situation and Larry the "manager" must have acquired his customer service skills while doing hard time. My wife proceeded to lead the motley crew (trailer in tow on three inflated tires) to the closest Discount Tire. As usual with Discount their service was incredible and they got the Pirates from Halthom City back on the road in no time.

Although the "movers" wanted to proceed to the destination on their own we insisted on following them the entire way to ensure that our worldly possessions actually made it to their destination. Our crew was smart enough to mark the roadside along the 250 mile route with their drink cans. We assume to find their way back. Who would have thought that litering could be a navigational tool? They probably just forgot their GPS.

The first stop went pretty well. Obviously, it had been a very long day to this point and who wouldn't need a drink after the debacle that had started 10 hours earlier? So of course between stop one and two it would be expected that our boy scouts would need to find the local liquor store which or course they did.

These are the facts of our amazing adventure with Accent Movers. If you like a little adventure with your move this is your company!

Accent Movers must have changed

AUTHOR: Rick Sterling - (United States of America)

POSTED: Tuesday, March 13, 2012
I have to admit when I first read your review I was very shocked by your story. It was SO much different from the experience that I had. It's funny though because I have seen similar reviews that are dated on the internet reporting some troubles with the company. That got me thinking so I decided to do a little research.

After calling the company and finding the right person to talk to I found out that the company went through some personell changes. The hiring process became much more strict. This pressured the employees that wern't providing quality customer satisfaction.

Why I was compelled to write back to you on this is simply because the moving crew (a couple young men) were nothing but professional and tenacious. They got there exactly when they were supposed to. They didn't have a uniform on or anything, but I would hardly expect any professional mover to have to be required to dress up in anything but something they can easily move in.

I had a four bedroom house and a packed three car garage. They realized the load was going to be large so they truly hustled through my home. I was quite impressed with the tenacity they put into getting me moved in the time frame I was hoping for.

They met all my expectations so much that I went on the internet to write about it, and then found your review. I guess I hope that those who read this will not think the worst, and give them a chance. I believe the individuals that were pulling the company towards these poor reviews have been replaced. I hope you give them a shout. :)

My name is Melissa and I do want to apologize for the way your move was handled. I have recently taken the position as manager and would like the opportunity to make this right with this customer. We do alot of moves and sometimes we do have problems. I try to work with every customer because I believe the customer comes first, and we have no business without customer satisfaction.

I have references for moves that have been moved and are very happy with our service. I hope and pray that you will not use us because of this letter. We do have professional movers at this time and I do not employ men who do not love there job and also strive for customer satisfaction.

Call me anytime 24/7 if you have any questions. 817-834-5377

Thank you,
Melissa
