 Applies for liability and cargo insurance through Aci. From the word go I did explain my intentions (liability and cargo insurance). John started working on a quote. Having furnished driving license number, social security number and truck Vin number, any insurance broker is able to dig my past driving habits to come up with a quote. After a couple of days I was quoted around $18,700. I asked him whether this is the final quote. I paid a down payment of $2778. John then calls me a week later claiming my insurance went up since I had an accident in my record. My insurance went up to 25,000. I questioned him since I had given him all the information how come he missed it. I got a lecture how they ran mvr last all this all that to avoid unnecessary bills ($15 dollars). I had already signed off my previous carrier so I was like I can go with that. Asked another $973 down payment which I paid by depositing in his bank account. Now am $3751 down payment. My carrier authority is granted. I was getting busy setting up brokers when brokers asked for cargo insurance. All this time am thinking I have cargo only that it's not listed. I asked for cargo only to get another carriers from John assistant per John. Then John calls and advices me I don't have cargo insurance. All this started 10/6 to 10/23. John advices me to buy cargo insurance at $2030. I felt taken for a ride and I declined the whole insurance which could have cost $27,030 (liability and cargo). The best part is, he claim he don't owe me a refund $3,751 and on top of that I owe him 5% more of the insurance I didn't get to use. I don't know whether it's me or Florida to blame. Stay clear of this one. Drive safe.
