AER LINGUS Flight bookings On Line Booking: Rip Off / hidden fees... London, Internet

have not been to Ireland in some years. I decided to day that I would visit my family in Galway.  I looked at various alternatives, Aer Arran,  Ryan Air etc...however travel to London LHR is my best option as I live nearby. Ok, so I ended up with Aer Lingus to Shannon airport.
 
Ok I commened my booking online input my destination and dates, nice! some of them are FREE..( Haaa, looking good )
ok I get a quote, then another page with various times, and different fees. NB: the cheapest are always CRACK OF DAWN FLIGHTS...Ok, Ithen made my time choices. Another page with fees for handling, tax etx. By this time I am annoyed. Ok, I book my flight. NOW I can book my seats for outbound and return GUESS WHAT...they charged me 14.00 !!! and this was after I had paid for the flights....NICE ONE EH!!....I would hace cancelled, and being defiant book with someone else.
 
Now it appears that I can get a discount when I do online luggage check in, otherwise I pay in full at the check in !!! Aint that NICE!  Oh yes, I nearly forgot...you can get text messages from them to your mobile, THEY CHARGE  1.00.......Ok, to begin with it appeared that I was getting a return flight for seventy odd quid, now it turns out to be 150,00...and of course I have not yet CHECKED IN...
