In April of 2015, Aerofit acquired the membership list from another local fitness facility from a disgruntled employee of that facility.  The manager of the facility, Peggy Hammond, knew the list was from that facility and that it was taken without permission.  Instead of returning the list or destroying it, she proceeded to have her salespeople call and email the members from the other facility offering them a "special deal" if they would switch their membership to Aerofit.  One of those salespeople, a girl named Kylie, quit her job there, at least partially because of this incident. She said she didn't want to work where the managers made her lie to customers and potential customers.

The owners of Aerofit were notified of the theft of the membership list, and after checking, they confirmed that they had the list and that their salespeople had been calling the names on the list.  A police investigation determined who had stolen the list and that Ms. Hammond had instructed the salespeople to make the calls, but Aerofit ownership refused to cooperate with the police, so the distric attorney declined to file charges against the disgruntled employee.  What Ms. Hammond did was not illegal, but it was definitely unethical.

Ms. Hammond obviously displayed blatently unethical behavior, and the owners of Aerofit, even after admitting what had happened, refused to take responsibility for what their employees had done.  Further, Ms. Hammond continues to work there, which shows that Aerofit condones unethical behavior.

If you try to make sure you are working with ethical companies, you will not want to become a member at Aerofit.
