Affordable Mattress Direct ripoff-unauthorized billing on cancelled order, trouble getting credit on unauthorized charge, lie about product and services Highland New York

I placed an order for a viscopedic mattress (I was informed by the salesman this is an actual viscopedic mattress and found out the next day that viscopedic is trademarked by Englander and that the mattress from Affordable mattress is not an actual viscopedic)and could not get a confirmation from this company after 4 phone calls. When this occured I called and left messages with customer service and the main line saying I was cancelling order because I could not get the information I was requesting. This occured on Nov. 3, 2003. On Nov. 4 I got a call from a salesman acknowledging cancellation (recorded on my answering machine).

On Nov. 24 they put through charges for this mattress. On Dec. 1 I called and spoke with Angela in customer service who informed me that no mattress had been shipped and that she would followup and call by noon. No call back so I called again and she said that they would indeed credit my account on Dec. 2. I stated that I wanted crediting to occur Dec. 1 as it is immediate. She said she would take care of this and email a confirmation. No credit and no email was received. At 8pm on Dec. 1 I called and got a salesman who said he would call the owner and have him call me. No call back. On Dec. 2 I called and spoke with Frank Grillo the owner who said he would get to the bottom of this, brought JOhn the original salesman on who acknowledged he never confirmed and had called regarding cancellation.

Frank and John then tried to sell me the mattress. I stated I wanted credit, not the mattress and that I wanted it on Dec. 2. Frank then informed me cancellation needed to be in writing and would take some time to process. I stated this was unacceptable as they had cancellation, never shipped a mattress and crediting is immediate. Frank then stated we can do this the easy or hard way. I stated I wanted immediate crediting and hung up the phone. Poor customer service, deceptive advertising as they have the viscopedic info. on site comparing it to tempurpedic and fraudulent billing. Don't buy or even talk to them.
