AIU-Online is a big ripoff. They abuse the federal fundings for students. They kept asking me for my parents tax returns, as soon as they receive my parents tax returns, on the tax returns it states $8,000.00, they tell me that I owe the school the same amount as on my parent's tax returns and refuse to give me my official trancripts. I am considering filing a class-action lawsuit, if anyone interested feel free to contact me at (((email redacted)))

Chanel,

I used to work for this University. I have my degree from there and they are not a scam or rip off to students. You might want to pick up the phone and talked to someone before you make a fool out of yourself. The reason I am assuming they are asking for your parents taxes are because you are under 24. They need this to verify the information that was put on the FAFSA. They cannot release funding until this verification is complete. Verification is really just checking the numbers you put into your FAFSA vs what was suppose to be put down.

When you call make sure to ask for a team lead so you can get sound information. AIU goes thru alot of employees so not everyone knows how to explain what they are requesting the correct way. I was with the organization for close to 3 years and alot of students go thru what you are.

Going forward what they are requesting is not out of the ordinary of what any school asks for when you fill out for FA. Calm down and call the school. It really sounds like you need your degree.
