How this shop is still in business, or the owner not in prison is amazing!

ANY search of Michael J Phillips in auto repair in the Texas area, will pull up numerous complaints. This is the SAME person, from this previous Ripoff Report from 7 years ago: Report# 771083 Amazing Auto Repair Centers of Texas

Apparantely he moves around and sets up new shops in new towns, perpetuating the same con/flim flam of auto repair.

This current shop in Huntsville, Tx, is actually the SECOND shop he has had there.  

The man is a very gruff, abrasive person. Especially once challenged on one of his numerous lies.  He will become violent, lash back in a retalitory manner, and become extremely verbally abusive. He threatened one of my workers going to check on our vehicle he was "suposedly" repairing telling me "You better keep your guy away from my place. If he ever comes back in here he will be leaving in a BODY BAG!"

If you continue to challenge him on his lies, he makes up new stories that contridict the information and "con" of his last made up excuses why your vehicle isnt fixed yet, or mainly why he doesnt have the parts you paid him up front for. He will then just hang up the phone, when you call him to the mat that his stories/excuses are not truthful.

Myself, as well as in conversations with others he has pulled his same scams on, start to notice a pattern to his DMO.

He will give you an estimate to fix your vehicle. ALWAYS want you to give him $ up front. DONT DO IT!  Says he will "order the parts".  Then you wait.  Parts are always "delayed" for some excuse or another. Or "oh, they sent the wrong one."   Which starts his "con/flimflam" time clock over again of putting you off and delaying the job for weeks.   You call, and its always the same story or a new story, of why the parts are not there. Or how the shipper is delayed. Or they sent the wrong parts again, etc.    Is just his STALL TACTIC, of why he outright just TOOK your $, and can show NO receipt, no shipping invoice, no PO from any parts store of where he ever ACTUALLY ordered your parts.    

He basically just took your $ and used it for other purposes is why your "parts arent here yet."     Again, when challenged to show proof, he will just hang up the phone on you, or get angry, beligerant, and frighteningly unstable.    (No con man likes to be busted,)

Another gimmick of his, is saying now your repair will cost more. So you will have to give him MORE $.  If you dont "pay up", he will threaten to tow your vehicle, or put a lien on it.

The work he DOES do is shoddy. He cant keep any auto mechanics.  When our vehicle was there, was literally multiple mechanics who had their hands on it, with the revolving door of mechanics.   Online searches will show comment complaints from former employees that he just didnt pay or scamed them too.        

Parts not put back on right, or bolted/screwed in.   Engine "rebuilds" where you will see metal shavings on your drain plug after the 1st, 2nd, 3rd+ oil changes every time.   Which follows the patern of other online comments about his work, and or reports of intentionally damaging someones vehcile.

Reports of customers finding their CAR KEYS left outside in their unlocked cars in his parking lot! 

Another scam/outright THEFT, was after he pulled the whole "you owe me more $" con, when he had done NOTHING other than remove an engine, that was supposedly going to be replaced by a new engine someone paid him for that never did "materialize" or appear, and when confronted, said he would have their vehcile sitting out back, with the HOOD removed and ENGINE gone towed off his lot.  When calling the wrecker companies he "allegedly" said he called, none of them had any record of having towed the vehicle. When Michael Phillips was confronted of where was the engine he removed, the usual borderline explosive temperment followed, and more lies and deflection of his scam/con.

Searches show, he was even SUED and a $9,000+ judgement against him in Walker Co (Huntsville, Tx) by the sign shop that printed the very signs on the outside of his building, that he NEVER paid for!   So even his signage for A&J Auto was STOLEN and ripped off in a con.
