Al Pfaneuf Gracewood Enterprises Be warned, Rip Off Enterprises More Accurately Longwood Florida

Al Pfaneuf was asked to do several fairly minor repairs around a house that I rent out.  His "proposal" was quite pricey.  He needed to clean the gutters, repair a small patch of wood around a window, replace somescreen on the back porch and repair some tile on the threshhold of the front door that had come loose.  I thought the estimate was a quite pricey (almost $1200) for what I could have done in less than a day if I had been there.  Somehow, the price kept escalating and was at $1800 before I put my foot down.  Several phone calls ensued and he could not adequately explain the upcharges, though one window had miraculously become two windows on the invoice.

We have a small screened in porch and I was quite disturbed to see over $200 for four small lower panels that I could have done in an hour total.  And now there are four small lower panels that contrast with several upper panels that are worn and have some claw marks in them.  He tried to justify extra charges because he "had to go buy some materials" and asked if we didn't think he should be paid for his time to go pick up extra materials.  Absolutely not!  Not when he quoted a price for the job and knew what he needed before he came out to do the work.  He became quite rude on the phone, demanded to talk to someone "who could make a decision to pay" his bill.  He then hung up when informed there were before piuctures of all the work that were taken in order to document to me that the work was done.

This company is out to rip off the public.  From what I gather after reading various review sites, I feel he specializes in those easiest to rip off, the elderly, the infirm, the out of the area landlord.
