Albany Care Residents of this facility harass me on a daily basis. Enough is enough! Evanston Illinois

Evanston residents in this area are constantly told that the residents of Albany Care are "harmless" and that resident's complaints are unfounded. Well as a resident that lives very close to Albany Care, I can say that these complaints are NOT unfounded. I pass this facility every day on my way to and from the train station, and almost every day i get harassed by one of the residents. One time a man FOLLOWED ME all the way to my home, talking nonsense into my ear the whole way. Im a female and i was so scared. Another time a resident just stood infront of my door, just blankly staring at my door. I didn't want to leave. On many occasions a woman would stand outside my door and smoke, with her smoke going into my windows. I've called Albany Care many times to report these residents and all they say is that they'd look into it. Completely useless human beings work at this facility. I'm tired of having to dodge vomit and phlem and urine and feces (yes, feces) when walking around the corner between Maple and Main st. I'm tired of the harrasment and panhandling (one man desperately tried to sell me his watch and when I said no he called me a b*ch). I'm so tired of listening to police and ambulance sirens on a weekly basis that show up at this facility due to the many incidents. I'm am so so fed up with this facility and with the city of Evanston for harboring such an appalling institution. I have a mentally ill grandmother and I would never imagine admitting her to a place like Albany Care. She has dementia among other issues and has a tendency to wander and yell at people. Why would I want to place her right in the middle of a neighborhood where people live and work? She receives care in a wonderful institution designed for people with mental health issues without posing risk to the public. This is how mental health should be treated. Albany Care is just a neighborhood bully, imposing their residents on Evanston families who just want to live in peace. I hope the city of Evanston shuts this place down. Residents of this town deserve better. We pay high property taxes and for what? To be spit on and yelled at by Albany Care residents? I pray for an end to this nightmare!
