I received a non-binding estimate for moving from NJ to WV.

After the first truck was loaded, I was informed that I had exceeded the estimated cubic feet. The movers tried to tell me that the truck was 1734 cubic feet when in fact Budget confirmed and I measured that the truck was only 1380. A deception that would have cost me an additional $2000.

At midnight, after all of my household goods had been loaded, I was then advised the cost was $8883! and not $4900 (they charged $1300 for ten boxes). They then changed the non-binding estimate to a binding estimate, which is to be given "before" the movers load your belongs.

Obvious I was hysterical by the doubled cost but felt trapped. I had to be in WV the next day for a meeting (which I had to drive all night). I couldn't stay any have them unload since the new tenant and landlord had already come to the home waiting for me to vacate. Because this binding agreement was not given up front, the movers ostensibly had me in a choke hold. Thus, I felt there was no alternative but to agree to the outrageous fees and get on with the move. Unfortuantely, that is when the real extortion began.

The following day (Saturday) I was contacted by the AIO office demanding an additional $250 because their movers had been delayed. The movers did not arrive at my home in WV until 9:00pm (11 hours late!) and then refused to open the trucks, refused to accept a cashiers check and then took off when I called the WV State Police because either my possession were not on the truck or because they were using illegal immigrants or both. At this juncture, the company had all of my belongs (valued at almost $100K) and $5000 of my money which they got from my credit card.

On Monday I contacted the moving company and was informed my goods had been placed in storage (which they refused to tell me the location) advising I had two choices: (1) pay another $4000 and pick up my belongs and move them myself or (2) pay $9500 to have my good delivered. If I did not, they would continue to charge me storage fees.

It has been almost two weeks and AIO will not tell me the location of my personal property, nor would they tell the WV State Police who contacted them after my initial report.

Obvioulsy, I cannot perform my job since they have all of the computer/office equipment. My children cannot perform their home school work since all of their books are being held by these thugs! Because of AIO, I have incurred hundreds of dollars in additional cost for clothing for me and my children while we wait for the FMCSA to help us.

The precise detail of what has incurred to me and my family is a well oiled scam, right down to the movers asking for a tip! All in One Moving of Fairlawn NJ and their thugs include Anthem's Claim Management have violated my family. They have changed their name to evade detection having previously operated under All-Star Moving, which is now operating under Supreme Movers. Moreover public records show they have 57 different business association!

Although there are laws that AIO have violated, my only course of action at this juncture is to file suit. Until that time, me and my children are forced to live in our new home without any of our belongs.

In short, my children and I have been robbed, extorted, and emotionally abused by these disgusting human beings and should they see this posting, I welcome the opportunity to face them in a court of law so that someday they can experience the same hell I have encounter!

AGREE, AIO Can Be A Rip Off

AUTHOR: Moving Newby - (United States of America)

I have to agree with part of what this woman is saying. I haven't been through everything she's been through, but I did recently learn that AIO isn't completely upfront with you.  I received a quote that was truly great and I listed EVERYTHING I have in my home being that I wanted a quote that was as accurate as possible.  The lady who helped me, Nicole, was extremely helpful and friendly and to this day have no issues with her whatsoever.

The day of the move, the men came and they were extremely quick and professional. They came in a Budget truck and started to load my things. First they had me sign a few papers and I kept asking how much I would have to pay.  He told me that he couldn't tell me at that time, but estimated that it would be about $1,000 more than my quote which I was fine with.

They finished in 3 hours and I was still extremely satisfied with their services.  But at the end of it all, I had to pay triple what my quote was which financially I was not ready for. My things were already packed (they filled less than half the truck loosely!) and there was nothing I could do but pay them since I was leaving cross country that evening.

Although I was extremely satisfied with their services, their pricing is ridiculous. He tried to tell me that he gave me certain things for "Free", but in the quote they had said that they were included. All tactics to get a bigger tip.

At the end of the day I feel a bit cheated and am just praying that my things get here when they said they'd be here.

Property Released after 2 Months of being held hostage!

AUTHOR: Marie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, February 03, 2010

I did finally get my property back from All In One Moving but I did it by hiring an attorney and getting the Federal Moving investigator involved.  According to my attorney, All In One Moving violated federal rules governing interstate moving.  See my rebuttal for the exact statute.

As a condition of the releases, All In One Moving tried to negotiate with my attorney that a condition of returning my property would be for me to remove my Rip Off Report, which of course I patently refused!

Although I did get my property back, it cost me dearly.  First, I had to purchase clothes, blankets, towels, etc for my family and I to have basic items to live (in a completely empty house) during the two months they held my property hostage.  Then I had to spend $2000 on an attorney, drive back to NJ to inspect the property in the storage unit AND pay Holman Moving antoher $6,000 to move it from NJ to WV.  Thus, the original $5K moved turned into more than $20,000!

The most distressing part of this situation is that I moved to WV for my job, which I was then terminated from because I could not perform my duties.  You see, All In One Moving had all of my business related property as well, including computer, fax, copier, brochures, etc. and they had all of my children's books and computers for performing their home schooling as well, because they were to deliver the stuff THE NEXT DAY!

This experience has devasted me financially and caused me to lose a job I truly enjoyed!  I am currently investigating the option of filing a civil suit against the company for the damages they have caused to me and my family.

These horrid individuals need to be held accountable for they illegal actions.

#1 UPDATE Employee

I cannot ubdersatnd how she can lie so much.............everything is a big lie!!!!

AUTHOR: Unknown - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, May 20, 2008

1- Customer called us for a last minute move on the afternoon.
2- We provide her with a binding estimate per the item list and she said she is all packed and ready to go because she is canceling on another moving company because they can not accommodate her move (they estimated her move 2400 cft and showed up with only one truck and they told her to pick up only items that ca fill one truck only).
3- We made the pick up , and agreed with her on next day delivery to West Virginia.
4- On the day of the pick up the customer went through the contract and she signed it after the Forman went through the whole process of explaining and filling a new estimate for her because he noticed that the the customer Marie had more items than what she told us(I can understand this it is last minute call)but she could simply forward the estimate she received from the other movers for the items and we would be more accurate.
5-After she acknowledge the fact that she did not give us the exact item list for her move and read the visual estimate by the Forman she agreed to that, and she signed the paper work.
6-The Forman and Marie agreed on the size of the shipment after exact measurement from both to the trucks empty and then full.
7-The shipment came to be 2441.50 cft and the packing charges upon agreement was $1300 .00 and she was satisfied with it and she signed a binding estimate for that and every thing was going great.
8-She also filled up our customer satisfactory and she rated us 10 being excellent .
9-After all the good stuff it is time to charge the c.c and for our surprise it did not go through so we contacted her to inform her about the problem she said it could not be because she have the funds and we should try again ,we did and the same problem again so we told her she assured us that something is wrong there and she showed the Forman that she have the money by looking at her account witch she have there $xx,xxx.00 and some change .
9-we called the cc company and they request that the card holder should call them so we informed her, she said that the cc company informed her that we can use the cc again after 12 med night .
11- We decided after all the facts that she have the funds for the payment to deliver the shipment and to show Marie good faith and we are willing to work it out with her so we sent the 2 trucks with the crew to WV we tried to reach her next day to inform her that the cc does not going through and we left her msges on her cell phone, When she finely called back assuring us that this day at 12 am midnight it will go through and she have for us a certified check for $5500 under All in one moving and all this happened while the crew waiting over 9 hours to be able to reach her .
12-We did agree with Marie to give us the certified check and we can unload one truck at the time and by midnight we will try to charge the cc but she should make sure that it has to work she and she agreed for the solution so when the crew arrived to her house she showed the Forman the back of the check and told him that he needs to unload now he confirmed that he will do so after checking that the check is good and every thing on it matches.
13 When she finally agreed to show him the certified check he called the office for advice he said that the check was under the other movers name and Marie scratch their name and she wroth our company's name in pen(hand writing) .
14 We called our bank to make sure that we do understand that this is not acceptable and we could not deposit this check so the bank even transfer our call to their FRAUD department to let us know that this is not legal action and who ever did this not suppose to pass this check forward to any body.
15- We called the for man we told him to inform Marie with the information and until know we received only $490 .00 as deposit and we can not unload the shipment without receiving payment and we have to leave her house and she can resolve the issue next day by getting deferent certified check and she needs to pay us the waiting time and the over night $1000. 00
16 - She did not agree with that and she said she will not pay so we had to leave after she assured us that there no way that she will pay any extra for the time and the over night .
17- Next day she informed us that she field a complaint with the WV police for not delivering her shipment and I think she did not told them that she did not pay for the move.
18- From our side you can see that we did what ever we could to show her that she is dealing with a good company and we are trying to make this move as easy as possible for her we did not get paid and drove for 8 hours to insure her that she is in good hands.
19 -Sunday when the crew came back and we received the contract we charged her cc for the amount of $4441.55 that we have her signature on it .
20 - Now we have her shipment in NJ and she knows that the redelivery will cost her $4500 includes the waiting time and the storage units.
in conclusion I really want to know what we did wrong to Marie that she played us like this and made this move so not good experience for us and for her and making us maybe not to trust people that maybe trying to work thing up.

As a business we are going to proceed with our good service and build a better relation ship with our clients and we are going to serve the public the best way we know and to go the extra mile for them because by the end of the day they still pay for what they should receive for their money.
