I was originally quote $1062.50 for my move. The mover was 2 days late, so I had to leave the state and my mother was there during pick up. My mother faxed over the papers that the movers left behind and it showed an outrageous amount of $3781. My quote tripled. I have been fighting a losing battle for the past 3 weeks with no resolution. My original quote was based on 33 items. I ended up having 2 extra boxes, decided to go ahead and move a desk/hutch, patio furniture, tv table, broom and trashcan. These were the only items that I was over and my quote went to $3781. My cubic feet went from 350 to 1025 cubic feet. They can't explain this to me. I have told them to remove those few items from the shipment and trash them......I want them to honor their original quote of $1062.50 based on my list of items. Additionally, the truck that my items was loaded on was almost completely full. I have photos of the truck before my items were loaded. I
have offered to pick up my stuff and move it myself.....calling it even at $700. They want $2000 before they will release my stuff. I even offered to pay more than my binding estimate contract - just to resolve this issue. The moving company has come down to $3000. I have asked my mother to get another quote from this company based on all of the items I wanted to have moved based on the same distance. This company came back with 475 cubic feet and a quote of $1475. I truly believe this company is either lowballing all their quotes or they are truly crooks who take advantage of this customers. I have tried over 15 times to reason with this company.....without resolution. They have all of my items still and won't release them without full payment of the $2300 on top of the $700 already paid.  I wouldn't recommend this company to my worst enemy - let alone a friend.  Do NOT do business with this company!

Dont Worry your in good hands

AUTHOR: Michael D. - (United States of America)

Dont beleive everything you read on the internet while yes we do get complaints every now and then it is imposssible to please everyone all the time. However we do provide a high quality of service for a great price. Hello David as our discussion went today we picked up your goods and the transport cost remained the same except for the packing materials that I itemized for you. Also even the packing charges I advised you of were explained to you prior to us completing the job. We will deliver the goods in pristine condition and we appreciate your business.
Thank you
Michael

Upcoming Long Distance Move

AUTHOR: Dave - (United States of America)

POSTED: Friday, March 25, 2011

Michael,
My name is Dave and I recently reserved a move with your company through Clay. I have agreed to a $500 down payment on the reservation but must be honest and say I am a little nervous after reading complaints on more than one website. Clay assured my things would be picked up at the PODS facility in Carrollton, TX on 29 March.....moved to storage (free of charge) in Rosamond, CA.....and finally delivered to my new residence in Rosamond, CA. My quote is for:

$2730 (7000 lbs at .39 a lb)
minus $250 for AAA
Giving a total of $2480.

I recently retired from the Air Force in San Antonio and moved my things to Dallas. I know for a fact my entire household goods are 7000 lbs because they were all weighed for reimbursement from the Air Force.

I ask you to confirm I will not have any crazy add on costs to what Clay quoted me. I was ready to just have PODS move my things themselves but Clay was persistent and assured me of the quote, which I have in writing via email. I am not going to make any outlandish threats if things go awry but I just want your word that the quote is accurate. If not, I will call Clay and cancel because I really don't have the time to worry about this issue. I will simply let PODS truck the containers out themselves.

I look forward to your response.

Our story and the facts

AUTHOR: Michael D. - (United States of America)

POSTED: Thursday, March 24, 2011

While we regret Kristines move has not gone well there are two sides to the story and here is ours
Fact #1 The original estimate Kristine had listed 33 pieces.
Fact #2 On the day of the move we picked up and tagged 97 pieces
Fact # 3 The shipper knew they had way more items and was given a revised estimate with the  new cost that they signed and agreed to.
Fact #4 After the goods were picked up and in storage the client states "I don't want to pay that much its triple the cost." Well yes but you have triple the items. If you went the the grocery store planning on buying 10 cans of food but then you buy 30 instead wouldnt you expect to pay triple?
Fact # 5 We offered to take $700 off her bill so we can complete the service but she refused.
Fact #6 We told Kristine OK find someone that can do the move cheaper and have them come get the goods or do it yourself and we will release the goods when you can come get them. But no attempt is made by her to find an alternate means of transport.
Fact #7 Kristine told us "Ok dump some stuff and I will give you and extra $200 for the other extra things. " We are not a disposal company. Dumping her goods would cost us a disposal fee and we are not licensed for waste disposal.

Finally the last sad fact is that Kristine said OK if you won't do my move for the estimate amount I am gonna complain to everyone and destroy your business. It is a sad commentary on todays times when what should be a legit platform for clients to voice their grievances is used as a tool for extortion and blackmail. We simply cannot do the service for what Kristine will pay and she refuses to accept this. Kristine we implore you please talk to us and try to really resolve the issue or just come pick up your goods.
