I purchased a Chihuahua puppy from this store last January after a long conversation with the owner (Laurie Pickersgill) as to whether or not the puppy would get along with my 14 year old jack russel terrier. She wouldn't let me take the puppy home because she required that it stay in her care for a week while it got its vaccinations.

During this time, my family and I went to the store almost daily to visit our new puppy...and it was then that we first noticed signs of illness. We spoke with Laurie and told her that we were concerned that the puppy was coughing and sneezing frequently and appeared to have goopy eyes and a runny nose. She told us that the puppy just had "dust in her nose from the newspaper in the pens".

When we came to pick up our puppy, she had us sign a stack of papers. After we did this, she informed us that her husband had been in early that morning and had noticed that our puppy had been coughing and sneezing. She told us that the dog had a "puppy cold" and to watch her closely over the next week and only expose her to family pets.

So, we took the puppy home and promptly introduced her to our jack russel. We noticed that the puppy would shriek as if in pain every now and then when she was doing various things. Anything from sitting on someone's lap to sleeping, to chewing on a chew toy would produce these cries. However, they were short in duration and we considered the fact that Chihuahuas are somewhat neurotic dogs. So, we figured that the puppy had just been frightened by something.

Well, within days of being introduced...our jack russel developed the same signs of illness. When I called our family vet...she said that the symptoms were that of Kennel Cough.

I called Laurie Pickersgill about this and told her that it wasn't a puppy cold...it was Kennel Cough. She said "puppy cold...kennel cough...it's the same thing." Well, no actually it's not. Had I known that the puppy had kennel cough I would have kept it away from my older dog because kennel cough is extremely dangerous for older animals. I told her that my family vet said that the puppy should be seen. Laurie argued that as long as she was eating and drinking; she was fine. I demanded that the puppy be seen...and she finally said, "bring her in and I will take a look at her."

So I brought the puppy back to All Pet Headquarters where Laurie held the dog up to her ear to listen to her chest...then walked my fiancnd I to the front counter of her store...opened a cupboard behind the counter...and handed us one of several dozen bottles of amoxicillin prescribed by the veterinarian (Dr. Thomas) who she is supposedly not affiliated with.

First of all, Laurie Pickersgill is not a doctor and therefore should not be handing out prescription medication. Secondly, Dr. Thomas of Pet Headquarters Veterinary Hospital shouldn't be giving prescription medication to this woman to disperse at her judgment...it is illegal. Clearly this is an ongoing issue with Laurie Pickersgill and sick animals or there wouldn't be a need for all of this prescription medication to be at her disposal!

She refused to pay me for the veterinary bills for my jack russel.

About a month after I had the dog, I was sitting in my room with the dog and she had a horrific shrieking episode. It was longer in duration than the previous short ones she had been having and I became very concerned. This shrieking cry was constant and painful sounding and the puppy was wincing and cowering. My father and I rushed her to Pet Emergency clinic where she remained until the next evening. The veterinarians found no signs of injury...only raised BUN and kidney levels. We were instructed to have her seen by our family vet immediately.

I called Laurie Pickersgill about this...told her about the situation...and was told that it sounded like my puppy was having "nightmares".

She asked me to cancel my appointment with our family vet and to bring her in to see Dr. Thomas (the veterinarian she isn't affiliated with...LOL)...or whoever else was on duty. She said she would be taking care of the vet bill. I did as she asked and she was seen by Dr. Housley...who read over the reports, looked at the x-rays, and wrote a letter confirming what the other vets had said.

The puppy was sent home with a recheck appointment in two weeks (which Laurie Pickersgill agreed to pay for). The puppy's episodes continued and I called Laurie to tell her I wanted the puppy seen sooner. She said to wait until the recheck appointment. She wasn't concerned at all that this poor puppy was in pain.

I called Dr. Thomas and he advised that I bring the puppy in. So I did. He gave her a cortisone shot and amoxicillin. When I went to leave the office, I was given the bill. I told them that Laurie was taking care of it...but they said she wasn't. Sure enough, she walked over through the sliding doors that connect the veterinary hospital to her store and refused to pay the bill.

From that point on, I took her to my family vet for diagnosis...ultimately she was referred to a specialist. The puppy was diagnosed by Dr. Sammut (a neurologist) to having a malformation in the spine or congenital meningitis.

Laurie Pickersgill refused to pay for any of the veterinary bills. She denies all responsibility and accuses me of "dropping the puppy" and injuring it....even though the 6 veterinarians that treated my puppy (which included her own Dr. Thomas) found no signs of injury.

I took Laurie Pickersgill to court a few weeks ago. I am still waiting for the court's decision.

I have 3 cats and 2 other dogs. I am an animal lover and have never had this kind of trouble with an animal before. What was supposed to be a wonderful experience has brought my family and I nothing but heartache.

Laurie Pickersgill sells sick animals and cares only about the profit that she makes. She doesn't quarantine sick animals...therefore, all of her animals are infected with kennel cough. She lies to her customers about the animal's illness and then makes up excuses that are almost insulting when confronted.

I am writing this to protect others from going through the same heart wrenching experience that I have.

DON'T BUY AN ANIMAL FROM ALL PET HEADQUARTERS!!!

They are all owned and operated by Laurie Pickersgill...and you WILL get a sick animal!!!

Might want to get a brain

AUTHOR: Skywalker8408 - (USA)

POSTED: Saturday, October 28, 2017

I happen to be one of the children who went to the day care center Laurie ran. I have nothing but fond happy memories of her and her husband. While on that subject the insurance money you speak of was from her husband dying in a terrible plane crash. How dare you try to use that against someone you foul mouth trash. As for the digs in the office those were lauries pets that she would bring to work rather then leave them alone all day at home so should check your info before shooting off your big fat mouth. As for the groomer he and his partner were fired from all pet headquarters for unnapropriate behavior so that situation was also dealt with . you sound like a bored person with no life why don't you GET A BRAIN before attacking an innocent woman Shame shame on you peephole detective must not be very good at your job. The next time you want to defame someone's character should make sure there aren't people that can prove your nothing but a dirty liar seeking attention. I hope people soon see you for the Fraud that you are!

Don't buy animals here

AUTHOR: Johnzo - (United States of America)

POSTED: Sunday, July 10, 2011

My wife purchased a Shitzu from this puppy mill factory outlet in 2005. Our puppy came home with a horrible case of kennel cough. I will never buy anything there again. My daughter took ballet next door for a while and I would go there to kill time. The puppy area was filthy and stinky most times I saw it. The store is half empty and looks sad. Our dog is happy and a great part of our family now, but I would never recommend this horrible place to anyone interested in a puppy.

Saw 2 sick puppies there yesterday - Completely empty shelves too

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 24, 2008

I was there yesterday because I was in the shopping center and decided I would go in and pick up some cat food. Their shelves were completely empty!! When I asked why they were empty, the owner gave me some BS story about the shipments coming from China or something. (my neighbor told me he was given the same story a few months ago). Anyway, I proceeded to take my daughter to see the puppies. There were flies all over the puppies, and the area smelled awful!! Two of the puppies were coughing....really bad.

It really made me sad. I thought about those dogs the rest of the day. I hope this place gets shut down soon. The thought of more dogs going in there and getting sick is heart breaking!

don't buy puppies from pet stores

AUTHOR: May - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 21, 2008

I have worked in the animal industry for many years.... Everyone who buys a puppy from a pet store is most likely getting a puppy mill dog. Why don't you go to your local animal shelter and adopt a puppy. Laurie said she has sold over 900 dogs a year.....Well do the math... that is 900 puppies/dogs that died in the animal shelter because there was no one who wanted to adopt them. As for these designer dogs.... they are at your local shelter every day! Go get a puggle or a cockapoo at the shelter for only $125.00! Yes that's right $125.00 and they get fixed, their first shot, a health check at YOUR vet, licensed, and you can even get dog training.... Oh and you get a 14 day return policy..... Plus the biggest bonus of it all is you just gave a dog a chance at life!!!! Please think of that next time before you buy....

Not every animal you get anywhere is going to be in perfect health.
Luckily for me, the 2 I've purchased from Laurie were. I bought a chihuahua and a beagle from Laurie and they are both healthy, happy dogs with no issues whatsoever. I was given the puppy talk both times, I received the phone calls following up along with very eager, helpful employees willing to answer any of my questions. I'm sorry that some people out there ended up with sick pups, but it happens. But there are also many, many puppies that are healthy that have walked out of the Pet Headquarters doors.

A few years ago I bought a double dapple blue eyed dachshund puppy from Laurie. She also had the same kennel cough and one of her eyes was bothering her. We also took her to the Dr next door to the store and he shrugged off her problems as if they were nothing. Her eyes continued to bother her and we ended up having to take her to a dog eye specialist who confirmed she had cataracts and glacoma(sp?) Laurie refused to foot the bill. She's a money hungry person and cares nothing for the animals she sells(at obscene prices, I might add.)

#11 Consumer Suggestion

Be An Educated Pet Lover- Boycott Pet Headquaters!

AUTHOR: Amy - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, January 06, 2008

MANY people have bought puppies from this store. MOST of those puppies are sick BEFORE they even get to this store. Anyone who is educated and informed about animal welfare will know that the puppies that PH sells are from puppy mills. I would like pet owners and pet lovers to be aware of this on going problem.

Puppy mills are where dogs are bred purely for profit. The majority of puppy mills are full of horrid conditions that no human would want to live in themselves. Dogs in mills are treated poorly and are not kept healthy, and where the puppies produced in mills go will shock you.

Conditions in puppy mills are atrocious. Dogs are often crammed into small cages, with little or no room to move about and get needed exercise. The cages are usually not made from the proper materials, meaning they can rust or break, causing injuries or illness. The cages also have no lining, meaning dogs and puppies are left to either sit in their own excrement or walk on wire while they're there, causing disease and painful foot problems.

If improper, dirty, crowded cages weren't enough, often these cages are stacked on top of each other with nothing to separate the dogs below from the ones above. This means that excrement from the dogs above falls directly on to those below. And if a dog dies in a cage and is not removed, the body fluids of the decaying dog falls on to the ones below. This causes extreme filth and disease, and, in some cases death.

Dogs and puppies that live in puppy mills, even for short periods of time, are not treated humanely at all. They do not receive proper veterinary care and are usually left to suffer when injured or born with birth defects. Untreated injuries or birth defects cause gross deformities and even death. Diseases are also ignored, allowing them to spread to other dogs. Puppy mill dogs don't receive the proper nutrients either, if they are lucky to get fed at all. This means weaker bones and immune systems, leaving them more susceptible to injury and disease.

Lack of treatment and feeding is largely due to neglect on the miller's part. Most of the time, millers only visit their dogs to take puppies away, kill dogs that can't produce anymore, or discard already dead dogs. Dogs and puppies receive no normal human contact at all, meaning they are usually afraid of humans and not properly socialized. Visits from anyone other than the miller or his/her business associates are rare. Puppy mill dogs rarely, if ever, get regular vet visits, regardless of injuries or poor health.

Female dogs in puppy mills are often bred from their first heat cycle until they can no longer give birth, with a litter produced every heat cycle. Once litters are born they are cared for by their weak, improperly cared for mothers for only a short time before being taken away to be sold or auctioned to other millers.

Many mill dogs live their entire lives in the horror of puppy mills, knowing nothing but the awful conditions there. Often, their lives are shorter than the normal life expectancy of the breed due to the conditions. Puppy mills are a pure-profit industry. Inadequate food, water, shelter and veterinary care means little money is actually spent on the care of mill dogs. This means that a potentially good breeding dog can easily be sold to another miller for hundreds to thousands of dollars.

Puppies born in puppy mills are shipped to pet stores around the nation. Yes, you read right, pet stores (ie. Pet Headquaters). Roughly 99% of all pet stores that sell puppies get them from puppy mills. There are some pet stores that allow independent animal shelters to bring in animals for adoption, these pet stores do not get their dogs from puppy mills. (Petco usually works with animal rescues). The pet stores that get their dogs from puppy mills are ones that sell puppies for profit. These stores are often large chain stores that are purely puppy stores, with a few accessories (such as leashes, collars and toys) sold as well, but they can also be full pet stores with a puppy center in the back of the store.

Pet stores that get their puppies from mills receive them by the truckload. Puppies are torn away from their mothers before they are properly weaned and sold to stores all around the country. Puppies are shipped in trucks or airplanes like regular cargo, not like the precious, live cargo they are. Puppies are shipped in crates with as many that will fit in one crate. Often, when a pet store gets a shipment of puppies, many are dehydrated and ill. Some puppies even arrive dead. It is up to the receiving store to provide adequate health care for sick puppies they receive, and not all do.

All puppy-selling pet stores will tell you where they get their dogs if you ask. The best answer to listen for when you ask is, From the local animal shelter or humane society. Know that any reputable breeder will not sell dogs to a pet store, and if the stores employees do not know where the dogs come from, either they don't want to tell you or really don't know. Always make sure you ask more than one employee, because some really may not know where the dogs come from.

For a list of rescue organizations, please reference the following link:
http://www.allforanimals.com/rescue.htm

When you don't know the pet's origins first hand, there is NO guarantee of their health. If you buy a pet from a pet store, you CAN guarantee that the pet will be sick. I used to work next door at Dr. Thomas' office and every week, I saw puppies that were sick. Unfortunately, there were also pets that never got sold because they died in the hospital.

There are also alternatives to buying your pet supplies all over Ventura County. The owners over at PH can keep the food cheap because they make such rediculous sales on their puppies.

I go to (((competitor's name redacted))) in Ventura and get great prices on GREAT food. Also, the (((competitor's name redacted))) in Ventura has a smaller supply but they are really nice people. If you are interested in adopting dog, you may consider the (((competitor's name redacted))) in Ventura. The (((competitor's name redacted))) are next door on the weekends. They have wonderful pets in need of a home.

It requires research and a little time to find a pet store suitable for your needs and your stance on animal rights.

sorry, allowing you to give a competitors name would instigate others to just file against their competition, to only come back later to suggest their company, ..plus, if you post a competitors name more than likely they will show up on search engines as a Rip-off! - - your comments on this policy are welcome. My Experience

AUTHOR: Diana - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 15, 2007

I had gotten a miniature longhaired dachsund from All Pet Headquarters last year. He and my daughter were inseperable. He came home with watery eyes and I had questioned the owner (Laurie). Laurie said that Eddie had been crying. Oh sure! Then a few days later, Eddie had started coughing. My daughter was very concerned so we brought him back to the store and showed Laurie. She said that all her dogs had it. It was the Santa Ana winds. Well, how could the wind get into the store? Please! All i got was lies! Maybe he was coughing because the employees SMOKE in the back of the store. Ya, thats right! They smoke twenty four seven! One day my daughter and her friends went to the bathroom and they had to leave imediately because it smelled so strong of smoke! GROSS!!

We took Eddie to another vet and they knew immediately that he had pneumonia. Later the vet said he also had giardia. We took him to the vet to get shots and treatments twice a day. On the weekends the vet in Camarillo wasn't open so we had to take him to an emergency pet clinic almost 20 minutes away. We later found out he had DISTEMPER too!! We finally had to put him to sleep because he was having seizures. We still have not received a full refund on our little Eddie! Please DO NOT shop at All Pet Headquarters!! Thank you!!

ALL PET HEADQUARTERS was mean to my child

AUTHOR: Jennifer - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, November 19, 2007

It was alarming to see this, but I'm not surprised. The owner comes off like she knows what she's talking about, but BUYER BEWARE!

I go in from time to time to see the puppies. My husband gets his hair cut near there, so my daughter and I go to play. Yesterday we went in and she held a puppy and sat down like they ask the kids to. She sat down and was holding the puppy for a while, and the puppy jumped off her lap. I picked her up and put her back, and the owner yells over "BE CAREFUL....you'll break the puppies legs!!!!". I was SHOCKED. The puppy didn't jump any more than a foot and it didn't even phase the dog. My daughter is a very gently and loving child and it totally freaked her out. She cried all the way home saying "Mommy, I didn't want to break the puppies legs".

I also have a co worker who purchased a puggle from this owner and it had some very severe health problems.

Please, if you are in the market for a dog...DO NOT go here!!! Go to your local shelter first. There are many animals in need of adoption. There are dog breeders out there making the pet population much worse. This woman charges over $1200 for a dog. It's INSANE!!!!! I feel bad for the puppies.

Vaccinations

AUTHOR: Sweettuth - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, November 01, 2007

I noticed the author brought up the fact that the puppy did not have his vaccines completed and Laurie felt to bring that up. Any person that has been working with animals as long as Laurie has should know that the vaccine insert states do not give to sick animals. Which makes me question her integrity about raising animals. The symptoms that the dog had sound vaccine related. Shrieking is not a sign of a healthy pet! Some great web sites to read about the dangers of vaccines are: http://www.truthaboutvaccines.org/ http://www.shirleys-wellness-cafe.com/petvacc.htm

A great beginners book for people is: The Nature of Animal Healing : The Definitive Holistic Medicine Guide to Caring for Your Dog and Cat by Martin Goldstein D.V.M. His website is: http://www.drmarty.com/index.htm He is Oprah and Martha Stuart's vet.

I personally stopped stopping at this location quite some time ago, I don't like any pet store that sells animals. Especially pet stores that sell mutts, and what I mean by that is all of new mixes created the puggles and the multipoos and all of the other designer dogs. Any responsible breeder does not breed mutts, therefore any pet store that buys designer dogs is not selling reputable dogs. Breeders should breed to improve the breed not to make money off the hot new designer breed! Here's an article about why you shouldn't buy from a pet store: http://searchwarp.com/swa259257.htm

Pet Headquarters is awsome

AUTHOR: Protoman X - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, September 16, 2007

I am an ex employee of All Pet Headquarters and I feel that Laurie Pickersgill has been treated wrongly. I am deeply hurt and disgusted by this moronic idiot michelle who has done nothing but try and hurt one of the nicest and most professional buisness owners I have ever had the honor of working for. Laurie Pickersgill is very good and knows alot about animals. she will always take time out of her day to help you. she even will take care of the problem untill a solution has been reached. I have never ever had any problems with any of my pets because of her. she always has good advice and knows exactly what to do if your animal is not feeling well. as for her selling sick animals what a load of bull. this person Michelle must be a complete retard if she doesn't even know how to take care of a puppy and drops it and causes it injury. what kind of person does that then tries to balme others for the dogs problems how VILE, RUDE, and just plain DISGUSTING. Laurie was always there for any customer who was having any problems at all with their dogs or cats or any animal bought from her stor.e I am truly offended by this person lack of respect and dignity. I would buy any animal from All Pet Headquarters. they are always healthy and very well taken care of at all times. Laurie even works on christmas day just to take good care of her animals and make sure they are happy and healthy and get lots of love and attention and I hope that anyone who reads this will listen and keep shopping at All Pet Headquarters. as for Michelle I hope you rot for your unjust and horrific comments about one of the most kind, gentle, and most loving people I have ever known you are truly a LOSER for trying to hurt Laurie

Laurie I hope all is well with you and your family keep in touch

All Pet Headquarters Camarillo, CA pet store sells SICK ANIMALS Camarillo California

In response to Laurie Pickersgill's accusations...

I find these comments almost comical. First of all, the difference between her accusations and mine is that mine are backed up by letters from several veterinarians (WHICH THE COURT RECEIVED...and WHY I WON).

The comment about there being "no bond" between Beans and my family is laughable. Like Laurie Pickersgill would know. Beans was brought back to her in her crate so that I wouldn't have to go through any emotions in the middle of the store. The dog was with me for several weeks after our court date and my family and I said our goodbyes and prepared ourselves for the day we would have to give the dog back during this time. I don't cry in public...never have, never will. So that was a nice try Laurie.

As for the comments concerning Beans not receiving vaccinations and not being spayed:

Beans was seen numerous times by Dr. Armington of Port Hueneme Animal Hospital. Every time that the puppy was brought to her, Dr. Armingon refused to vaccinate her because SHE WAS SICK. Dr. Armington along with any other veterinarian or doctor that has a brain does not vaccinate when illness is present. Dr. Armington also likes to wait until the animal is at least 6 months of age before she will spay.

SHOULD YOU GET CONFUSED AGAIN LAURIE, feel free to give Port Hueneme Animal Hospital a call and ask them their policies about giving vaccinations to sick animals...or if they will do a spay on an animal before they are 6 months of age.

In response to the comment about boarding Beans and my Jack Russel.

Geee...where should I start. I guess I will start with the Jack Russel. My Jack Russel developed many medical problems within the last year of her life. It began with a thyroid problem that required medication to treat...then escalated to serious diabetes...and ultimately ended when she had uncontrollable seizures and had to be put to sleep on New Year's Eve. The dog was not at Port Hueneme Animal Hospital being boarded. SHE WAS THERE FOR OBSERVATION AND TESTING. Her blood sugar had to be monitored and her presence there was requested by Dr. Armington. SO GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT from you "insider" before making such dumb comments.

As for Beans...she has only been boarded once in her life. We were out of town attending a wedding in Hawaii and Beans was left in Dr. Arminton's care for two weeks because of her condition. I did not feel comfortable leaving her in the care of the house-sitter that we hired to stay at the house full time with our other animals. She was sent to Dr. Armington in case an episode should occur so that she would receive immediate treatment and attention.

Once again. GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT. You really don't have a leg to stand on.

I am so happy to hear that little Beans is with a good family. But then again, anything is better than YOU!

It began with a thyroid problem that required medication to treat...then escilated to serious diabetes...and ultimately ended when she had uncontrollable seizures and had to be put to sleep on New Year's Eve.

Rebuttal about "Beans"

AUTHOR: Laurie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Sunday, March 18, 2007

This is in rebuttal to the editorial posted about my business and myself. I am Laurie Pickersgill, I own and run All Pet Headquarters with my family. We have been in the pet industry and have taken care of and sold live animal including puppies for over 20 years. We sell close to 900 puppies a year. Over this time we have always maintained the proper paperwork, vet checks, everything mandated by law as well as other things we have found are helpful to our animals as well as new owners.

I would be lying if I said that all of my puppies go home and live happily ever after. However, that is the truth for most of my puppies. We do have occasions where some puppies and/or owners experience problems. Whether they are health (the puppies or a family member), adjustment, or other unforeseen things.

I could give hundreds of references from puppy owners, many repeat puppy buyers, who would be more than happy to share their experiences with their puppies, our store as well as the employees and family members who have helped them. Some of them, also, had puppies that had puppy colds, Kennel Cough and/or other issues that came up after puppies went home. We worked with these owners and together remedied the problems.

I have used the same group of breeders for over 8 years now. We have established standards that all of the breeders as well as my store use. We use the same foods, the same brand microchip, the same manufacturers for all shots and worming medications, the same schedule for these shots and worming's, same schedule for vet checks, etc.

We keep all puppies for 6 days for several reasons. They go through an additional 6 day worming program while here. We also monitor their eating, drinking, playing, sleeping, peeing, pooping, playing, etc. We make sure the puppies are not having any behavioral problems (i.e. aggressiveness toward playing and/or eating). Also dogs have an incubation period of about 3-4 days, so if they have been exposed to anything prior to getting here, they will show signs of being sick before they go to a home.

There is a stack of puppy paperwork that goes with each puppy. This puppy packet contains a
*Buyers Protection Sheet with Laurie's Home/Cell & Store Phone Numbers
*Breeders Page
*Puppy Talk Acknowledgement Sheet
*Veterinarian Check-Up and Treatment Form
4 Generation Pedigree
Microchip Registration Sheet & Envelope (along with tag for puppy's collar)
Puppy Owner's Observation Sheet with Laurie's Phone Numbers
Warning for Small Breed Puppy Owners
Benefits to Spay/Neutering Your Puppies
Owners Right Under California Law
Disaster Preparedness Sheet for Pets
Trainers' Sheet Offering Complimentary Visit
*(These sheets must be completed and/or signed by purchaser of puppy.)
Only one page requires the new owner to fill out information. There are a total of three pages that need to be signed by new owners. The new owners get copies of EVER PAGE.

On the front page, (Buyer's Protection Sheet) my home, cell as well as the store's number are listed and hi-lighted. Everyone who buys a puppy from my store can and often do call me. I am available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Every family that buys a puppy from me is given a Puppy Talk where we go over the basics for potty training, shampooing brushing, collars, leashes, teething, dental care, treats, feeding, playing, housing, etc. All new puppy owners are encouraged to come back and visit even after they take their puppy's home. We even do puppy talks for people who have bought their puppies from someone else. We strive to be of assistance to anyone with any type of pet.

We call each family after the puppy goes home to make sure that everything is going okay. Also to answer any questions and/or concerns they might have.

Now, I would like to direct the statements made by Beans previous owner. When we received Beans back from her, there were no tears, no emotions what so ever about giving up this puppy, that she had for almost a year. There was absolutely no bond between Bean or the family, which I found to be strange. Almost all new owners are bonded with their puppies before they go home.

When she brought Beans back to my store I was told by her that she never completed any of Beans puppy shots (7:1 vaccination or Rabies) or the deworming that are required for the puppy to be fully vaccinated. She was so concerned about Beans welfare and says she took Beans to SIX DIFFERENT vets, yet she decided to neglect finishing Beans' vaccinations. She also failed and/or neglected to fill out the Microchip transfer sheet, which would register the microchip in Bean to her. Nor did she bother to get her spayed. We also learned after we got Beans back, that the owner had Beans as well as her Jack Russell boarded for 1-3 weeks at a time, every couple of months. We learned from an employee of the facility that did the boarding for Beans and the Jack Russell she owned. This former employee recognized Beans and Beans recognized her after she came back to us. She told us all about Beans and the Jack Russell before we said anything about who Beans was or why we had her.

Since Beans' return to my store we have had her vaccinations finished we had her spayed. We had an outside vet do an evaluation on Beans. Beans spent 24 hours with this vet. She was x-rayed from nose to tail. Put through several tests. This vet diagnosed Beans' with having a behavioral problem, that was learned.

We are happy to say Concerned People for Animals adopted Beans out through our store to a family and is doing wonderfully. The new owners bring her in for us to see how well she is adjusting. Her behavioral screeching is virtually gone now. She has adjusted and is very, very happy in her new home and is always excited to come here and see all of my employees who loved and spent a lot of time with her while she was here.

All Pet Headquarters Camarillo, CA pet store sells SICK ANIMALS- Judgment for ME

AUTHOR: Michelle - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, February 12, 2007

I am happy to tell everyone that I won my case against All Pet Headquarters concerning my sick Chihuahua puppy. The unfortunate part was that I had to give the dog back to Laurie Pickersgill to receive my judgement. I have my doubts as to whether or not the dog is being treated well.

I will be checking this site on occasion in case anyone has a similar problem with this company and wants my help.
