I wanted to change from a fee heavy bank account, thought I would try the Bluebird card, big mistake. After getting the temp card, I enrolled online, all was fine, when I got to the part where I had to enter my direct deposit info, the web site showed me that my deposit was coming from the U.S. Treasury, gave me a tracking # so I could change to the new deposit card account, everything went fine. I received the hard card in the mail, and waited 3 weeks for the first direct deposit to be credited to the new card.

The day I should have had the money on the card, I get an email telling that Am Ex Bluebird does not except treasury checks, because Am Ex refused the deposit, my payment was returned, that was Dec 3rd, the bluebird was cancelled, the 6 bucks was refunded, but I still have not received my December payment, not from bluebird, but from the government, bluebird has caused me tons of money in late fees, I have no money for daily living, meds, food, etc. If you get SSD or any form of treasury deposit, don't use the bluebird card. Now I don't know that I will ever see that payment, this sucks and I am out of everything.

BlueBird is POS

The same exact thing happened to my son. He is a disabled veteran. It took 3 months to get this straightened out and with the help of our Congressman!! He closed that account and ended up with another online company that doesnt cause this kind of headache.

In the meantime, I had a problem with them locking me out of my account. It's Saturday, their fraud department is closed on weekends and I could not get to work. I've switched to CapOne360 and will be closing that account once I get all my money out of there!!

Bluebird Mistake.

Your right, I did check the box, and no, I did not read it. Those things are not written for anyone to completely understand. When the web site approved the depositor, I never assumed it would allow me to enter info and it approve it, to find out 3 weeks later that it would not except it. My question would be, why would it not bump the entered info, because it will anyway, before it causes people problems?  This could cause me major medical troubles, not to mention all the other financial troubles it has caused. I cant help but think, if amex bluebird does not except deposits from any Social Security source, am ex is missing out on what could be potentially be new customers in the neighborhood of 45 million individuals, 45 million, out of 55 million on ssi, ssd, etc. I will be keeping an eye on the class action lawsuit web sites. Because amex refused the deposit, it causes all sorts of trouble to get that missing payment, and as of today is still not deposited in my bank, almost 2 months, you try and survive like this, bet you cant.

When you registered your account you checked the box next to: Click here to confirm you reviewed, met and agree to our Member Agreement. The Member Agreement you agreed to includes Section 9a that states:

Payments by the U.S. government may not currently be direct deposited to your Account. This includes Federal wages, salaries and retirement benefits and Federal benefits such as Social Security, SSI, Civil Service Retirement, Veterans Affairs compensation and pension, Federal worker's compensation, etc. If you try to set up direct deposit for these payments, we will be required to reject them, resulting in likely delay in your receipt of funds
