Amanda Barr and her business parter Helene are horrible people. I contracted with them to dog sit for our three dogs while we were away for a week in March 2008. Amanda was supposed to stay in our home overnight. We have a very old golden retriever that does not have good eyesite and arthritis and she said she would do that. We agreed on a price, pre paid of course per her request, with the undertsanding that she had other accounts to service during the day but would be there at night and stay overnight.She even told me she had a golden and knew the breed well.

Well on the first night Amanda said she had a "problem" ( a dog in Arlington had escpaped from the home) and this prevented her from getting to our home. Then it detiorated further. Our neighbors said there was not one light on in our house all night and no cars were seen. I confronted her with this and she became enraged ( becasue she had been caught) and said she would not finish the contract. Here we are , over 600 miles away and our dogs were abondoned by the so called " pet lover".

She left the TV on all day , I guess to keep the dogs amused. We had just adopted a rescue puppy months earlier from terrible conditions and this poor puppy was kept in its crate for very long hours. This is NOT what we signed on for.

While we made arrangements to cut our trip short and come home, we spoke with Amanda's " business partner" Helene who described herself as a vet tech. She said she would fininsh out the contract . She did not. We had to have our neighbors tag team care for the dogs while we cut our trip short so we get home to a mess.

Our two well tranied older dogs had soiled the carpet presumably because they were not let outside or from stress.

She has changed her phone number and I think her websitetoo. She needs to be stopped and exposed,and reported to a lawyer for a class action suit and to PETA.
