Amazon.co (the letter m is missing).  It was a pop-up survey on Amazon.com website that came up during my usually unobtrusive sofa shopping.

An obnoxious electornic tune try to dazzle me to complete their survey.  I'm not sure if was the Amazon.co or Amazon.com plan?  It has a survey that rewards you with a pricey free gift after completing a 4 question survey.  Each of the 3 "exclusive" survey gifts are free, but require shipping and Handling of $5.99.

What you don't see are the terms and conditions.  CAREFUL.  Nothing in life is free!

I happen to minimize my amazon.com screen and do a search on the value of the MaxNaim watch company, which was one of the 3 survey gifts.  They operate on a rotating watch plan that you can trial, then pay up.  They don't even give the values of the watches on their own website, that's a red flag.

Its a survey scam that does not inform the consumer at the time of the selection.  The Terms and Conditions are on a separate website.  If you committ, the company gives you 14 day trial to accept or decline.  If you accept, you will be billed the standard purchase price in this case @$100 "MaxNaim" watch in this case.  You are then automatically credited for another watch "time piece" the next month, that you can accept or decline within 14 days.  Its a viscious cycle.  Rumor has it that returns are complicated.

Shame on Amazon.com to let such a low class interference clutter their site: possibly without their approval, yet not proactive enough to warn their customers.  Hey Amazon, its ok to tell me whats up, but don't let me walk in to a mess and then not expect to pull you into the mix when things get dicey.

Own up to the scam and clean it up, or I'm out of here.  Because I'm writing this complaint / report and not shopping at this time with Amazon should be a clear signal that our respect for each other has been compromised.
