I ordered 6 items from Amazon.com online 10/28/11, paid with my credit card which has a large available balance and immediately received a confirmation email that my order had been placed with proposed delivery dates for the items.

Today I realized that "none" of the items had arrived and went to Amazon.com to see what was going on with my order.  I cannot find any record of my purchases on their site, no matches when I put my order #"s in!  I call Customer support, which is definitely NOT in the USA!  After having a perfectly useless conversation with a foreign C.S. agent, I asked him to have a Supervisor call me.  I received a call from one, and was told my credit card had been rejected numerous times by my Bank over 2-3 days and that they had cancelled my order.  Also, told that they had sent me 2-3 emails trying to get me to give them another credit card to use.  I have no emails in my inbox from them besides the one saying my order had been confirmed!  Never received a phone call to say there was a problem with my credit card??

Well, I called my Bank and they did an investigation, the dept. that declines or accepts charges told me that there was NEVER an inquiry from Amazon.com to try to put charges through on my card.  They had no record on 10/28/11 nor any other day!  They told me that there would be no reason for them to deny charges that I wanted made on my card as it is in excellent standing.

I called Amazon.com back and told the Customer Service Supervisor what my Bank had told me.  He refused to take any blame and told me that my Bank basically is LYING!  Hmmmmm.  Not sure what reason my bank would have to lie about something like this!  This Customer Service person refused to do anything to help me.  I asked to have the same order run through again with the prices left the same as they were on 10/28.  I had already seen that they had increased the price of the Sony camera I had ordered on 10/28 by about 60.00!  He said he could not do that, could not honor those prices and I would have to re-order and pay the price today with No free shipping, as I had on 10/28!

I am just outraged that they have such" Customer NO Service" at Amazon.com and that he would not fix what had happened and give me the prices I should have gotten.  Also, amazed that he could not admit any blame on Amazon's behalf.

I am done with Amazon.com and wanted others to hear what I have just been through! Personally, I am only going to do business with those businesses who value their customers and try to make errors right .  I always strive to frequent those companies who don't "farm out"  their US employment out to foreign countries!   Buyer BEWARE at Amazon.com!  They are nothing like they use to be!

Robert hit the nail on the head.

Not sure what reason my bank would have to lie about something like this! "

Wouldn't you also question what Amazon would stand to gain by lying about this?  On the contrary, they're losing a sale.

Step back and take a breath.   What sort of problem could cause Amazon to get a reject on the transaction and still show no record of the transaction at your bank.    The answer is simple.   The card info supplied to Amazon was not correct.  That would cause the transaction to be rejected, yet your bank would never see the failed transactions on your account.    Doesn't that sound more logical than the notion that Amazon is trying to persecute you for some unkown reason?

Also, amazed that he could not admit any blame on Amazon's behalf.  "

I'm never amazed at people who post here convinced of their infallability.

I have used Amazon extensively over the years (and still do) without any problems.   There has to be more to this story than the author stated.

- Most banks approve and decline charges automatically, so any investigation that has to be done is for a Customer Service Rep to look up on their system to see the status.  For your bank to not only do an entire "investigation" but has an entire department to do nothing but approve or decline charges all day must be some bank.

I guess it never occurred to you that it was possible that you entered the wrong information.  After all it has to be them who made the mistake because you are perfect.  But let's just say you entered the wrong information.  When your bank investigated under your account information, how would they see the attempted charge with different account information?
