I fell behind on my mortgage and have entered into a forbearance with AMC Mortgage. While they were very helpful, I am a little perturbed about how they are reporting me to the credit bureaus. i take 100% blame for falling behind BUT now that I am in the forbearance agreement I have made every payment on time, yet they are still reporting me 120 days past due??!! I will never be able to refi out of these people if they do not start reporting something a little less derogatory. Is there anything I can do about it?

They are also reporting my past due balance as more than it is. I am not looking for sympathy as I did fall behind due to a job loss, but I am back on the saddle and making headway but feel like I will never get ahead with them reporting me the way that they are.

Same boat as Andrea with AMC.

I too am currently in forbearance with AMC and they have been reporting me 30 days late every single month. As I try to be honest and I did fall behind I worked with them to save our home and I have to say that AMC has been fantastic to work with. They stipulated that by law they have to report the 30 days late but they do note that a forbearance is active, this is actually in the contract I have. So I wasn't sure who to complain to.

I recently tried to get a cheap replacement car, to lower my payments and get better gas, but I couldn't do anything because of this reporting. I am going to try to get the credit companies to remove this information per Connie's suggestion as I have the records showing on-time payments from the start of the forbearance.

In all honesty I have found that the credit reporting companies are more of the problem than many of the actual agencies making the reports. I have found endless mistakes on their part and also found that many companies legitimately report the proper information (like AMC has in my case) but the credit reporting agencies do not properly take the time to note the change and just do the "routine."

Here's wishing us both good luck in dealing with the Three Credit agencies.

AMC reporting credit incorrectly to credit bureau

AUTHOR: Connie - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Wednesday, May 02, 2007

I had issues with AMC reporting late payments to credit bureaus while in a forebearance agreement. The consumer can dispute this negative items to the credit bureaus. I had disputed the 120 days late with the 3 credit bureaus, at first they came back and stated they were reported correctly from AMC.

I sent a copy of the forebearance agreement to the credit bureaus along with my pay history showing I had paid as agreed with the forebearance agreement they changed my report from being late to paying as agreed. It takes some effort but it did work and they removed the 120 days late.

It can work for you as well. Good luck
