I am filing this complaint with my mother by my side. She attended a senimar where she lives that was hosted by this organization and their  "members". They told her that they could help her apply for this benefit for my parents for FREE.  The members in fact are simply financial sales people looking to make a living off off the veterans that they mislead to believe that they are volunteers working for a veterans organization. Although, my mom does remember one of them mentioning that they were a finanical services professional it was not explained that they were working in this capacity to get these seniors to invest with them. We are all paying the price for this now. They hide behind the curtain of this misleading name / website and company. All of these people are salespeople who sell insurance annuities to seniors like my mother. These seniors are Veterans who need to qualify for this VA benefit but have assets that need to be protected for their future care. Almost seems like they practice law without a license. They are everywhere in our area and now that I have done some research there are many people who are not happy with the results this company has brought them. It also makes us wonder if the communities where they hold these seminars are recieving some sort of compensation.

Bottom Line: The whole ball with these individuals of wax seems very very dishonest. My mom could have really benefited from talking to someone with legal training rather than some salivating insurance salesperson that was just hungry to get their hands on her money. This "wolf in sheeps clothing"  then places that money in an annuity where they make a nice residual income. The annuity that these "members"  placed my parents in has now caused my parents to be disqualified for Medicaid help now that my Dad has gotten very illl. My mom really thought they were doing the right thing , they thought they were speaking to a non-profit that was there to help them. They were trying to get the help that they are entitles to and that they needed. They truly didn't understand and I am sure that most seniors who attend these seminars feel exactly the same way. If they arent trying to be deceitful why dont they just explain who they are?  Why not say that they are insurance salespeople?  Why pretend to be a veterans group? Why not just tell people how you are making your money? Why not disclose the facts? Why not tell the truth?  Now we know better, there are plenty of reputable people who can help these seniors who do not hide behind this mask. We have legal help now and are thankful. I only wish my parents had gotten me or my brothers involved and that we had taken the time to become educated. I would have asked more questions. As we all know nothing is FREE. I just wish we had gone another route from the beginning instead of having a lawyer clean up our mess now.
