I went here several times browsing and looking to buy a car. At first when I first went the salesmen told me that I would need at least $1,500 down I agreed, Never the less he said this is a leasing car lot not buying. I didnt know and found out after signing and reading the contract. Before I bought here I continued to look around in the Memphis area not knowing that they had other lots but they do and I ended up going to another one and saw a better selection so the car I was going to buy here at this lot had got sold before I could make it back with all my correct info so I called and the salemen said we have more coming but they are at the Main Car Lot (American Car Center which is on Elvis Presley In Memphis, TN, so thats when I noticed Oh they are the same so i went back there after the selection came in and still got something different because the salemens told us we could only get a truck they would only give us a truck not a car I held out and thought about it a while then went back to the one On Elvis and told the guy I was ready to buy. He then changed the down payment amount he said we are going to need $2,000 after he said $1,500 starting out with but the $2,000 soon turned into $3,000 down. We gave them $3,000 down On a 04 Ford Explorer, the salemens told us that if we gave him 3,000 down that the tag will be covered with all the money we gave them we said ok and gave them $3,000, a month later we got a call asking us to bring them an extra $127.56 to cover the tags, I told the lady that called I said the finance manager said that the tag was covered along with the $3,000 we gave, come to find out he stated he's sorry he miscalculated and they wouldnt give us the tag until we gave them the extra money, on top of that when we paid the extra 127.56 we looked at what someone had wrote out and put Amt Included for tags in Deal -149.00 and then we was charged for Late Penalties -24.11 for which we dont know why or what even the late penalties is for. On paper they wrote with a Pen Actual cost of tags 300.67 what was suppose to been tooken out of the 3,000 he clearly stated that if we gave him 3,000 down the tag will be included.

It was closing time for them so they rushed us through the contract signing paperwork and then he told us every repair was covered under warranty no matter what it was and its not also now the vehicle cant work when we had it after one week it was taking off funny after we put it in gear and take off it was a fuuny feeling with something that felt like it was coming from the back of the truck sure enough they leased a vehicle to us that they knew was already broken even before putting it on market or what ever. We reported the problem constantly they told us to bring it in to have it looked at but it was going to be a charge just for them to look at it and not fix it, Now we have to pay for something that we cant drive and have paid out over 5,000 to at least 6,000 with down payments and vehicle notes havent had it for 3 months and we cant even drive it at all. Its so sad how carlots just makle stuff up to take the peoples money.
Never Buy Here, Read They have all types of tricks up they sleeve and literally thinks its funny that you have a messed up vehicle that you are paying for but cant drive.

This car lot Leases but dont let you know and they just want money thats it eveyone that works here are in it for the money. I called today and asked for a manager and they just replied who are over your account I'm like what none of these women that work here are certified or trained they are jsut hired off of the street and have been put behind a desk to lie and scam just like the salemen and owners. Its ashame

But I wont stop until they fix my vehicle at no cost to me or give me a refund and get they vehicle back or give me another reliable ride.

The management of AmericanCar Center respectfully disagrees with this post. While anonymous posts on the internet are difficult to respond to appropriately because we have no way of knowing the actual source, we want all our customers and potential customers to know that our very popular leasing program is fully disclosed on the front end of all transactions, contrary to this poster's claims. Our leasing program is a win-win for all involved and allows us to offer the lowest mileage, most recent model vehicles that customers want. Also, importantly, all of our customers have the option of owning the vehicle after the lease term; we believe that we get our customers to ownership status for less money and more car than any other traditional buy-here-pay-here dealerships in our markets.

More importantly, we fully encourage all our customers to come and talk to us about any complaints or problems they may have, including mechanical problems that are often covered by the limited warranty that comes with every car. We have an awesome complaint resolution process and strive to improve it every day. American Car Center cares about our customers' experience!
