i have had cancer insurance and short term dissability insurance through this company for a long time. november 23 2012, was diagnosed with cancer. up until i had my surgery in april 2013 they were slow paying, and now they are outright stalling and convientely not paying, or paying such a bare minimum...you must be careful on these policies, as the policy says will pay up to a certain amount.so after having a 309,000 dollar surgery, they have not been what i would consider fair...after i had surgery at tulsa cancer treatment center of america,i had to agian prove my surgery was for cancer after that was already determined in november 2012...they paid ok for my chemo and radiation,,,but are leaving things out that they should be paying on, like radiation during surgery, or only paying small amount for surgeon, paying for organs removed, and surgery itsself etc....short term dissability i filed 2 months ago... they have been claiming they have not heard from my employer for verification of time off...i have called american fidelity and keep getting the same excuse as to why they haven't paid on this claim...my employer called me the other day and assured me she has spoke with american fidelity 4 times after i called and gave them all verification they needed of my time off. my employer told me she has now sent them verification through email requesting reciept that they got it...i know when all is said and done, i am going to have to hire a lawyer to got through these payouts and billing to determine how much they have short changed me...i also have aflac insurance, for intensive care and step down...obviously their step down stops as soon as you come off the heart minitor...i was loaded with iv's, cathater, tpn, nose throat tube, i had fever, blood cultures atleast twice a day, 2 units of blood etc. they only paid for 3 daysintensive care and 1 day step down, when i was on all this for 16 days minus heart monitor...so you buyers need to be aware, their payouts must be gone through with a fine tooth comb, preferably through a lawyer!
