I used to work for AFS and currently work in the Debt Settlement industry. It's people like you who will ruin it for everyone else looking to get help. You have signed a contract stating they were going to charge your fees in the first 12 months of the program. You also signed off that it was possible that you could be sued by your creditors. What are you complaining about? Are you stating that none of your accounts were settled?

Did you drop out of the program before your accounts could be settled?

You obviously aren't telling the full story.

Anyone who reads this should know that person is complaining about something that he not only signed off on but also went through a recorded phone call where AFS asked this client if he understood that his creditors may pursue legal action. He answered yes to that question otherwise he would not have been enrolled into the program.

Debt settlement is a very good option for anyone who is qualified for it. You have to stay in the program if you want to be successful and you should not speak to your bill collectors. I would bet dollars to doughnuts that this person did not follow instructions correctly which is why he had a bad experience. Even if you do get sued it's not a big deal that's just part of the process. All that means is that creditor is trying to force an early settlement, it's actually a good thing. This person probably got scared and dropped out of the program. Idiot.

Complaining about what happened to you is like signing up for a credit card and then complaining that they are charging you interest on a daily basis... You should have known that when you signed the contract. Moron.
