Have you ever heard the saying on TV from this company 90 SAME AS CASH JUST PULL UP TO THE DOCK AND WE CAN LOAD IT UP OR SAME DAY DELIVERY What a Crock of SH**!
I went into American Freight on 1/27/2007 and put close to $2,200.00 of bedroom furniture and a bar set in lay- away.I asked how much it was to deliver the furniture when I pay it off the sales guy said $90.00. I said ok and left with my paper work and receipt for the furniture.
On 2/10/2007 I went back to American Freight and asked for one of the bedroom sets and the bar stool to be taken off. As the sales guy was doing this another guy which turns out to be the deliver driver says the deliver charge is $95.00 depending on how many pieces you have.
After the sales guy took off the items I did not want the rude and annoying delivery driver says How many pieces does she have? the sales guy says 13." the delivery driver then says $115.00 to deliver.
I thought this bast***! So, me being me I lost my temper and told the sales guy then I ain't paying s**+*! I can go somewhere else. You are only 10 minutes from my house by car.
As I am leaving a manager walks up to me and says that he can work out something. The manager goes in the back with the deliver driver for a minute. The manager yells out $90.00 to deliver today. I then paid the full amount of the bill which was close to $1,500 since I took some Items off. The sales guy said between 5 and 5:30 2/10/2007 and confirmed it with the driver. I agreed had some more words to the manager about his rude driver and left.
About 1 hour go by and I get a call on my cell telling me that they did not have my sons bedroom set in stock and they needed to deliver everything on Wed or Thurs or I would have to pay a deliver charge twice. Hell No!. So, I agreed to Wed or Thurs.
Wednesday2/14/2007 rolls around no call so I called them. I was told that the mirror was broke when it arrived from the Tri-county store and they would call me Thursday to deliver. Yes I was ready to spit nails but said ok after expressing my opinion of American freights Business.
Thursday 2/15/2007 rolls around no call. I waited til 5 and called them informing them that if I did not have my stuff today that I wanted my money back today. The guy on the phone said come and get your money back then. I was on my way 30 min later I am at their desk and hear a guy say there she is. I replied yup here I am yo point! The guy goes in the back and gets the manager now surprisingly this is a different guy from 2/10/2007. He assures me that he can make it right and have my furniture to me by Friday no later than 9pm so I inform him that this is it Friday no later.
Well Friday2/16/2007 comes and the sales guy calls me and tells me that my youngest sons mattress was not in stock they were going to give him the next one up because of that and that everting else was there.
The DUMB A** driver gets there at 12:00 Midnight after I have worked 12 hours on my job. My kids swear up and down that the guy was on something by the way he was acting. The driver starts to unload the truck, as he is coming in I am marking off pieces on my receipt. Guess what! The mirror broke again coming out of the Tri-County store and the manager supposedly had called me and told me that it was not coming ( nope was not told that and had not talked to manager only talked to sales guy and was told everything was a go ).
On top of that the Queen size box spring would not fit up my steps so they had to put it back on the truck saying that I needed a split box spring. I was never asked what kind of box spring I needed. And was also told that I had to pay an additional $150.00 and another deliver charge for them to deliver the mirror and the split box spring. Wait a minute I am not paying another dime to you or anyone else in that company only funds that will be coming out of my pocket now is to my lawyer.
Saturday 2/17/2007 I then called the Tri-County store looking for a corporate # and was put on with the 2 manager I had spoke to in the Erlanger store I explained ever thing and was told he was going to make it right and not charge me for the split box spring and order a new mirror the mirror was not broke he says he watched them put it on the truck. He said he had a lot of delivers scheduled and could not get it to me for a few days.
2/27/2007 I then called and asked for the manager a smart A** guy asks for my name and then put me on hold for about 3 seconds. ( Come on if you have ever been in American freight you will know that it is a big store) the guy comes back and said I can not find him what is your last name. (My last name because you can not find him please my name is not a common name like sue or Jenny so I know he is being funny)
I gave him my last name and # he then started to cut me off acting like he could not hear me saying my #. I repeated myself over and over by the 4 time I said never mind my lawyer will just call you back. The guy says ok have him ask for me or ***. ( Oh you heard that though).
While on the phone talking to my lawyer they call me back (Da** thought he could not her my # ) Manager says we have your sons mirror. Wait what about the box spring he forgot that easily or there has been soooo many complaints that he can't keep up? I then refreshed his memory and he said I have to get back to you I have to check and see if they are in stock in Erlanger cause we do not have them here.
Let me inform you I have a nasty attitude when it come to my money cause as a single parent with 2 teenage boys I work d**n hard for mines NO ONE is going to take my money and run!
Well, today is 2/28/2007 still no word. I thought I would let others who even think of buying from them know to please go somewhere else.

This letter is also going to my lawyer and I will be checking to see if there is a corporate office for this company**
also I am sorry for it being so long but i wanted to tell the whole thing.
