When we purchased a pre-owned home in August 2019, apparently the seller had a home warranty in place that we did not know about.
About a month ago I received a letter stating that the policy would expire SOON, (no exact date). They gave me a price of $190 per month, $2280 per year. I knew that was way too much because I have a competitors coverage for same items covered for $455 per year.
I ask them to send me a copy of the policy so I could read and understand before signing. They never sent the document as requested. Why not, because in my opinion they knew their policy was way too expensive and only customers who are unaware would purchase it without questions. The price they wanted against my current policy is 400% higher. Home Warranty Companies are not under insurance regulations. This company has 210 complaints filed with BBB.
