I purchased a 2001 Honda Passport brand new. Almost paid $30,000 for it.

On 7/16/08 while driving this vehicle my husband almost got into an accident. The vehicle was all over the road and almost hit other vehicles. When looked at the vehicle we noticed in the back both sides of the frame completely ROTTED and gave way. When had the vehicle towed to Lia Honda where we purchased it looked at it. They told me they are not giving me any help or won't even tell me it it can be fixed they said take it to a body shop we don't do that.

The clearly told me that "wow it completely rotted away" "we don't know why this would happen" they know I have always taken care of my cars. I have purchased 3 vehicles from Honda and can't believe they will do NOTHING to asist me with this matter. I also can't velieve that my just hitting 7 year old vehilces frame completely rotted away.

I spoke with the American Honda Motor Corp. and they too say well you had a 3yr/36,000 warranty and a 5yr rust warranty. I told them this is not rust this is rot!! They do not care even though they know this should not happen. My SUV looks great I just can't drive it because the frame rotted away. I have called many automobile dealers and they all have said this should not have happened.

My husband is on disability FOREVER and I work full-time. We do not have the money to get this fixed I have a hard enough time paying for the mortgage. Plus do not know if it can be fixed. Seems funny Toyota is fixing their problems for the same problem that I am having. I will never again purchase HONDA and I will inform everybody I know of what they are doing to us. I have pictures to show if interested. Thank you

Flood Car?

AUTHOR: Karl - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Tuesday, August 12, 2008

This vehicle may have been in a flood and sold as new. Lots of new cars in New Orleans after Katrina went out of state and I'm sure that they were dried out and sold to an unsuspecting buyer. In any event quit screweing around with Honda and dealers. This is obviously a unique situation and you need to get an estimate for a new frame or a repair from a body shop and then get a lawyer and take Honda to court. If I was on the jury I'd make sure you got a new car. It will never go to court. Honda doesn't need the bad publicity and if a dealer sold you a new car without a salvage title he is in deep trouble as well.
