On january 10, 2009 I went to american lube fast to get my oil changed. my car was running great before then, they changed the oil and put a new cap on it. All of a sudden our check engine light starts to come on but we thought it was the fuel pump so we didnt think any thing of it. About 3 weeks later we pull up in the yard and the car just shuts off.

We had a mechanic come look at it and he asked us if we checked the oil, we told him we just had it changed, so he checked it and it was bone dry, the only oil on the car was on the new plug that american lube fast put on it. We called american lube fast and they came to look at it, told us that they talk to their insurance and take care of everything, well the insurance people called, sent someone to come look at it, and had us get it towed to a shop.

Now they are saying that they are not going to pay for our car to get fixed because they cannot find proof that its their fault. I want something done because it is there fault, our car has not been touched by anyone else, and if I wouldnt have went to get the d**n oil changed I would still be driving to school and not catching the bus.

my car is a 1993 crown victoria please contact me asap

There's a reason they're called "idiot lights"

AUTHOR: Flynrider - (U.S.A.)

Your car was trying to tell you something and you ignored it for 3 weeks until your engine siezed? Don't you ever check your oil? By the way, where did the oil go? If the lube place did something that caused 5 quarts of oil to leak out over the course of 3 weeks, why didn't you notice the puddles of oil that you must have been leaving everywhere you went?

It's possible the this shop did something that caused your oil to leak out, but your insistence on blissfully ignoring any warning signs or even bothering to look at a dipstick, is what caused the engine to self destruct.

Not their problem at all

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

It is the responsibility of the vehicle owner to open the hood and check all of the fluids/belts on a regular basis. For fluids, this means weekly.

You have no claim.
