I purchased a Trane Air conditioning unit from "Millian-aire Airconditioning" in Spring Hill, Florida. The unit has a design failure, when the outside air gets too hot the door to the unit expands and trips 2 switches that turn the unit off. The unit was about 6 months old and it failed on a sunday so the dealer charged me $75 to rewire around the switches. So I get to pay to fix their manufacturing problem because the unit failed on a sunday. I could understand if it was a normal service call but Trane engineers failed so why do I have to pay to fix it.

The problem may have actually been caused from a faulty installation. The service charge was most likely because it was an "After Hours Call". Typically manufacturers will refund a service call labor back to the installing contractors at a predetermined Labor Rate. Most installing contractors will absorb the difference between Overtime Labor Rate and Regular Labor Rate, just as a good business practice for customers.
