i am an unemployed individual. i received an ad in the mail telling me i could receive a government grant to help pay my bills. i sent americas secret giveaway a check in the amount of 23.90.
well they cashed my check and to date i have not received any information from them. i could have used that 23.90 to pay a bill, instead of being ripped off by this company

I work for one of the nonprofits that has been listed as a source for "free money". We do not give out money, we barely have enough in our budget to do the work that we do in our community.
A year ago, I contacted the New York State Consumer Protection Office to let them know that we were getting multiple requests for money from people who had purchased Stephen Young/Communications Publishing's "book".
They have been working on investigating this fraud. Please go to the link below and fill out their form. If many people do this, then perhaps this fraud can be stopped.
