I tried to do my homework before investing in this company. I called several distributors in several different regions of the country and asked them how they liked the company and how well their businesses were doing.

I double checked the phone numbers of these "ditributors" to verify that the phones were in the correct names and citys. In addition to speaking to the distributors I spoke to several merchants who were selling the products.

I contacted the BBB in Hallandale Beach Florida and received a report on AmeriPOS. All in all the company looked stable and reliable so I proceeded to make the biggest mistake in my life. (Lesson 1: do not trust anything the BBB has to say)

Right from the start there have been problems. When I started computing the numbers on their presentation materials I found that there were numerous erros. When I contacted the individual at AmeriPOS, who had sent me the prospectus, he admitted that the numbers didn't seem quite right but he had no idea why this was. He conviced me that was a non-issue and I went ahead and sent in my money to purchase five units. My check cleared in mid February of 2003 but I did not recieve my machines untill late February of 2004. A very bad omen. ( Lesson 2: if there are errors on the prospectus don't go any further)

The first "location expert" that I had was useless. He found two merchants in 6 weeks for me to talk to about placing the equipment. Both of these stores were terrible locations with very little foot traffic. Nothing even remotely like the kind of outlets that AmeriPOS touts in there commercials! After 6 weeks and many phone calls, I was finally able to be assigned a locator that actually was trying, but the potentials were still not the kind of high traffic and hige volume locations that could sell $135 per day of product, which is what AmeriPOS claims is average. (Lesson 3: Divide all projected returns by a factor of 3) At that rate my units would be earning me about $10 each per day and I would be satisfied.

I now have 3 units out of 5 placed. Of these 2 are with one merchant in 2 stores. The merchants are happy enough with the product but there have been many problems getting setteled. Every time I have to deal with AmeriPOS it is as painful as a root canal without pain killer! I am left on hold for 10 to 15 minutes only to be cut off or have the operator come back and ask whom I am holding for, only to be placed back on hold for some undetermined period. If I do get through it usually takes 20 to 30 minutes, and often as not, I am told there is nothing AmeriPOS can do and I need to contact the service provider. Of course when I contact the service provider they tell me I have to contact AmeriPOS.

Bottom line, if you are not involved with this company then for your own sanity don't get involved! They talk the talk but they do not walk the walk. If they are not out and out scam artists then they are fly by night two bit operators trying to act like a major organization and they are not setup to even come close. If you have already made the same mistake that I did then contact me and maybe we can work together to make AmeriPOS do a better job living up to their promotions.

STOP! ..before you think about using the Better Business Bureau (BBB)... CLICK HERE to see how other consumers were victimized by the BBB's false or misleading information. Don't be fooled! It has been reported, when there are thousands of complaints and other investigations underway by authorities, the BBB has no choice but to finally give an UNsatisfactory rating to a BBB member business that is paying the BBB big membership fees every year. When a business is reported that is NOT a BBB member, BBB files WILL more likely show an UNsatisfactory rating, then reportedly shake down that company to become a member of the BBB. One positive thing about the BBB is, either way, if a business has an unsatisfactory rating with the BBB, you can be sure, the business is bad. But what about all those BBB member businesses that had complaints filed against them? Consumers never get to hear about them. What about the BBB advertising to the public? Is this a false and misleading perception they are giving about consumer confidence when dealing with a business? Click here to understand more of what consumers and business alike are saying about the BBB. You decide. ..Remember. The BBB membership is not earned, it's paid for!
