Anderson & Fiene, LTD. Ripped off for Services Glen Ellyn Illinois

I was looking at purchasing a home in Glen Ellyn, Il and had the house inspected by a home inspector.  He did an excellent job and found things I would have normally missed.  He noticed 2 cracks in the Garage Foundation that he advised we obtain a structural engineer for more detailed advice!  My real estate person contacted Anderson & Fiene, LTD for help.  They are approx 1.5 miles away.  Doug Fiene met me and my real estate representive at the house to inspect.  Was told he charges $150.00 an hour.  Doug looked at the cracks and determined they were not structural but were caused by blunt force, meaning someone at some point ran into that section of the foundation with equipment of some kind?  This took Doug less than 15 minutes to come to a conclusion!  He asked if there wasn't anything else he could look at/inspect?  I said no that is what I needed to know.  Offered to write a check, was told No, I will send you the bill via email and a hard copy via US Mail.

Next day I received a bill for $600.00?  I read the email twice thinking this was incorrect?  I responded to Mr. Fiene that I was not going to be paying this bill?  Doug sent me another bill the following day indicating that he made a mistake sending me the incorrect bill.  This bill was for $450.00.  Told Mr Fiene, I still think this is high for being on the property 15 minutes max, plus writing up a report?  He didn't have to drive far from his office to the location.  He decided to charge me for 3 hours at $150.00 = $450.00

We continued for several weeks.  He sent me a bill I returned that I did not think it was fair, and thought I was being ripped off.

We received another bill this past week, before I knew it, my wife paid the $450.00.  She has a good heart, I don't appreciate getting ripped off.  So now I am trying to let anyone in the Chicago area know, please investigate a person such as this in detail before hiring.  Please stay away from this structural Engineering firm. I would like a portion of my money returned.  For something such as this 1 hour would have been sufficient.
