Anytime Products Shipped damaged, wrong merchandise and failed to correct error as they promised many times. Northridge California

I telephone ordered an Electronics Tech Bench, consisting of modular components, on 9-17-2007 frome Anytime Products in Northridge, CA..

A shipment of bench and legs was drop shipped to me on 10-05-2007 from Edsal Manufacturing Co,4400 S Packers Ave, Chicago IL 60609 which arrived a few days later and was discovered to be incomplete. I notified the company of the missing modules. (I also ordered an additional metal bottom shelf at that time.)

Another drop shipment was sent from Edsal on 10-17-2008 which I believe are the 2 drawer assemblies which showed some dents but I considered to be serviceable.

After several calls to Anytime Products, the metal bottom shelf was sent from Edsal on 11-13-07.
The final drop shipment from Edsal was initiated on11-09-07 and received in damaged condition and was the wrong module. The part ordered was Anytime Products PS357 described as "Power shelf units 60" w". I received from Edsal their item no. E-704 described as KD/BENCH 79920 which is a module designed for a different technical bench system and is supplied without the wiring and electrical socket kit. My VISA credit card was charged $775.16 on 9-17-2008 of which $186.24 was for the missing module PS357.

The missing module is a shelf intended to hold electronic test gear like oscilloscope, power supply and voltmeter. The shelf is made of sheet metal and has punch outs on the front ledge to accomodate 120 VAC electric power sockets wired in parallel. The wire string then is pugged into a wall socket to supply power to the PS357 power shelf. The purpose of the power shelf is to provide electric power to supply the unit to be tested and the test equipment on the shelf.

I immediately reported receiving the wrong part, damaged in shipment beyond repair to Anytime Products. The sheet metal was twisted in 3 dimensions and would require a skilled metalworker and a body shop to straighten it out, having been shipped in a cardboard box without padding.

Over the next 2 months, I complained and was assured that they would investigate. Each time I was shuttled to another "investigator" until I realized that I was fighting a losing battle.

My Electronic Tech Bench is not "Electronic" or a "Test" bench. It is just a bench with junk on it ten months later.

I had been receiving an unsolicited catalog from Anytime Products. Their catalog contains a lot of good stuff and they boast of their large amount of sales to the government. I will bet that they are a lot more responsive and careful with govenment contracts that dealing with ordinary people.

For sure, Edsal Manufacturing Co does not seem interested in properly packing the goods that they ship.
