AOL's is currently running a promotion for high speed internet at "$22/mo. for 12 months, AOL annual plan $3.90/mo., AOL High Speed annual plan for $3.90/month, Qwest DSL Deluxe for $22.00/mo. Total is $25.90 per month. Valid from Jan. 30, 2006 until Apri. 08, 2006."

The first of February I signed up for high speed internet through AOL. When I received my first Qwest bill, I noticed I had been charged $24.99 for Qwest DSL Deluxe, instead of $22.00 quoted in AOL's promotion.

I have made numerous calls to AOL and Qwest regarding the $22.00 price advertised by AOL versus the $24.99 actual charge. The response I receive from AOL is: "You are being charged $3.90 per month for AOL, as correctly stated in the promotion. AOL is not responsible for Qwest charges so you must contact Qwest." The response I receive from Qwest is: "You are being charged $24.99 per month (plus taxes and regulatory surcharges). If AOL's promotion inaccurately quotes Qwest DSL Deluxe for $22.00 per month, then it's AOL'S error and AOL is responsible for crediting your account the $2.99 difference every month."

Neither AOL nor Qwest is willing to research the issue to determine why AOL is promoting Qwest DSL Deluxe for $22.00 per month and Qwest is charging $24.99 per month. This AOL promotion continues to run. I am just the first of many AOL and Qwest customers that will experience the same discrepancy in charges and will receive no satisfactory response or resolution.
