Just found a credit card charge by AOL Travelers Advantage for $119.99 on the same credit card that AOL bills to for monthly service. Trilegiant is a telamarketing firm who works with AOL to supply this service. The billing comes in as AOL Travelers Advantage. Trilsgiant has had class action brought aginst them in many states. After multiple calls and E-mails I have found out that I have been billed for this service for 9 years, shame on me. I was advised that a telamarkerter spoke to my wife in 98'and she accepted a free hotel stay and 3 free months of AOL service. She doesn't have access to this credit card # and could not have given it to anyone over the telephone. We also do not give credit card information to anyone over the phone especially to a telamarketer. We assume a telamarketer may have called because they knew my wife's first name and said she agreed to this service. We also assume the telamarkerter misrepresented everything because they did not ask for a credit card # knowing full well AOL already had the #. What I can't believe is thet AOL would be associated with a company that uses such deceptive tactics and has been sued in many states for the same thing.

Suggestion To Change Your ISP!

Bill,
First, I am sorry to hear of your misfortune. I hope that you may recoup your monetary loss. Unfortunately, you are one of MANY who have been scammed in one way or another by AOL/Netscape and any associates.

May I suggest that you read the complaints against AOL on this website and others. They are posted close to DAILY! In my opinion, AOL wrote the book on deceptive tactics!

What I have trouble understanding is why Dell and others would enter into business agreements with AOL!

It would not be suprising to find that you've bought more from that company than you may realize in the past nine years! Watch those statements!

I'm on a MISSION to spread the word about AOL!

Best of luck!
