Apollo gate company Bad products San Antonio Texas

We have had the professionally installed custom gate and Apollo gate opener for 8+ years and it has been nothing but expense, having to replace the circuit board at least twice a year. The maintenance costs more than the opener itself at $500 a pop. Sometimes, I think twice, the warranty covered it but all the other times they claimed it was lightening strike, which is possible, living in Georgia . The company who installs these gates, West Georgia Custom Fence, says the gate opener can't be grounded, and there is no place to put a surge protector. If you look at their web site, under contacts, they list the guys in charge of U.S. regions, but NO contact info, not even an address! When you call customer service, be prepared to wait at least 15 minutes. Then the only response you receive is, "I don't know, I have to look at it. ". The service technician for the fence contractor/distributor says the same thing over and over, that this is very common with this name brand, although they keep selling and installing. Technician says owners finally get tired of paying for new circuit boards and end up disconnecting the gate without replacement, or getting a new company. Nothing but negative reviews is all I have found on the Internet, yet the company doesn't address the problems. Why don't they have contact info? My guess is that they are too busy trying to get distributors and don't have the staff to handle the complaints, nor engineering to develop a stable and effective product. Do not invest in this product!!! I was told by the contractor gate technician that all he does is repair the gates and it took a week for him to get to us, only to have to order the new circuit board again, so that's another few days! He said callaway gardens removed the Apollo gate openers because of this constant problem and expense!
