1. You say you "haven't used that name for years." So was that your name once? Have you ever had a relationship with the land or this loan company?
2. There are no contact numbers anywhere on the collection letters? That's very hard to believe. Just a return address to send the money?
3. Doesn't the collection agency have a web presence which includes a contact number? This all sounds very suspicious, like a company is just fishing for funds. If you know you didn't borrow money from this company and you have no connection to the name on the notice, how do you even know it's for you? Maybe the guy they are looking for used to live at your address?
