my fiance' received a collection letter last month from this company ara: has an outstanding balance of $11056.84 says credit acceptance corp and original account# from cac: funny thing is we have a current vehicle loan w/ credit acceptance so i am very surprised to have received this.. i called today and left a message for mark farmer @ ext 3402.. we are disputing the validity of this, at first my fiance was thinking his exwife had purchased a vehicle and forged his name on the contract, but still, if he had an outstanding repossession w/ credit acceptance, we would not have a current loan w/them: very confused

in response to my earlier post: i called ara 05/02/11 spoke to someone that did not id themselves, told him letter received: he said was from auto loan from 05/1997, told him was past statute: he tried to tell me there was no statute of limitations, i told him i worked in collections, and he needed to brush up on his FDCPA laws, and my fiance would not be paying nothing on this.. he did not verify my fiance's id, and he released info to me, both in which are violations of the fdcpa.. anyone getting bills from this place, please find out when the original debt was incurred, and know your rights.
