I purchased an auto from Maroone Auto in S. Florida approximately 4 yrs ago. In the process of purchasing this vechicle, I told them what I could afford. After several hours of negotiating, I was told that the only financial institution that would extend me a loan due to my credit history was Transouth. The catch was that it was going to run me $100 more than I wanted to pay. We sat for at least another hour while I decided what I wanted to do and finally just signed the loan as I desparately needed a vechicle, in my own name as I was on the path of getting my credit straight and just figured, this xtra $100 more a month is my punishment for my past credit issues.

Though tight, I was paying my loan every month. Late a few times, but still paying my loan. When my salary got cut from $35k per year, to $12.00 per hour in late 2003, they allowed me to difer two payments so I could get thru the holidays. I'm a single mother with two kids. In January 2004, I was let go from my job and was unemployeed until I found a part-time job in June, as my unemployment ran out and no extensions were being issued. The job pays less than what I was getting from unemployment, but it's a job and an opportunity for me to pursue my new career goal as a Massage Therapist when I graduate in August 2004.

I began receiving calls about my payment being late. After explaining my situation to several of the representatives and then getting nasty and rude comments made to me, I began to just hang up on them as they would not except anything I had to say or arrangements I wanted to make. After these calls started getting worst, I then proceeded to request to speak with a manager as I was no longer going to accept the statements and comments that were being made by ALL of the representatives that were calling my house. Well, after speaking to a Mr. Pat Woods from the collection division in Texas, I now fully understand why the representatives deal with their customers the way they do. Mr. Woods has to be the RUDEST and the most HEARTLESS man I have EVER encountered in my 45 years of living. I could began to write a book on some of the conversations we've had.

The problem I am now encountering is that he as instructed his staff to NOT EXCEPT MY PAYMENTS over the phone. I attempted to make several payments over the last few weeks and unless I make two payments at once, he will not accept them. I just do not have this amount at once, so I in turn MAILED my "one month's" payment and it was excepted and posted to my account. When I again tried to make a payment this week, he again refused and after some words between us, he hung up on me. (He wants me to post date checks for money that is not yet in my account and I refuse to do so as this has already cost me close to $400 in bank fees. $60 of that was caused by them putting a check thru that I told them not to put thru....not only once, but twice. In turn because the banks first gets their fees, it caused me to not have enough money to make the payment.)

I called back and spoke with another rep who did take my payment for one month and later that evening, got a call back from Mr. Woods that the payment would NOT BE EXCEPTED. So, I in turn got a postal money order and mailed it express delivery to Transouth payment center. Not sure yet if it has been excepted, but I got a call a few moments ago from Mr. Woods who told me that unless my payment is made today (SATURDAY) that he is going to start the process of defaulting my loan and repossessing my car.

This man has actually caused me to have chest pains and the shakes and I am not really sure just how much more I can take from his intentional actions of causing me to be further behind on my loan. He is vengeful, resentful and nasty, and has no sympathy for those who are trying to make an effort to make ends meet and get their bills paid. I tried reasoning with him, arguing with him, and ignoring him altogether, and he still continues to be nasty and harrassing.

I can guarantee that there are nasty comments written in the computer about me, as it is obvious from how the others talk to me when I call trying to make arrangement. He himself actually told me that if I had mailed my payment to him directly, he would have tore up the check! Now, does this sound like a guy who is trying to get someone to make their payments. Sounds more like he is going to get some sort of reward from Transouth, if he is able to default my loan and repossess my car.

I have so much more to say about the rudeness of the people who work for this company and I am fuming on how this is allowed in our society today! Whatever you do, if you are looking to get a loan, DO NOT GO THRU ARCADIA TRANSOUTH! I don't care how bad you need cash or a car, they will eventually make your life a living hell!

I would also like it if every person who has had the same problems as I had to really consider some sort of actions against this company. If anyone has any ideas, please know that after what they have put me thru over the last few months, I will make it my personal mission to do whatever we can to STOP THE MADNESS of corporate corruption, harrassment and intimidation on the very people who keep them in business.
