Apparently this company purchased my old credit card account recently. An account that the balance went from $185.00 to $745.00 in on swoop. I've already advised this company that I would not pay that balance.

Arrow Financial called my home on April 12, 2004 and harrassed my 10 year old, scared her into believing her mommy was in trouble, just so she can verify the information that they had on me and also, to provide my job information.

When I contacted the representative Karen Singer on this matter, she stated that she's well within the federal guideline to do this. Any one who answer's the phone is considered a 3rd party. She even admitted that she asked my daughter if an adult was home and when she said no, she continued to tell her that its urgent and very important that she reach me.

How can a 10 year old be considered 3rd party and she can't even get a job. I also spoke with a supervisor there Jennell Rossbach and she advised of the same thing. If anyone has experienced anything like this, I suggest to contact the Attorney General's office in IL. I'm sure their aware and if they recieve enough complaints on this company, there will be some major fines on the way.

I was reading your complaint about the 10 year old being frightened. As an experienced professional in the industry I can tell you anyone that is not listed on the credit account, besides a spouse can be considered a 3rd party.

How did your balance get so high? was this account already past due before the collector called? It sounds like compounded penalites are accruing and the fact that you refused to pay the amount you are not disputing is only going to make the situation worst.

A 10 year old child doesn't know any better, and there is a difference in urgent and emergency, in regards to a collector calling. I was a veteran collector (one of the good guys) and never, ever, broke a law... The word harrassment is one of the most misunderstood words in the dictionary.

Good luck to you, PS If my memory serves me correctly Arrow Financial is a collection agency.
